Setup and Installation

The Starkey LED Bed Light Kit is designed for a Plug-and-Play installation. However, it is crucial to verify if your truck is pre-wired for the Y-Adapter to provide power to the bed lighting.

Pre-Wiring Check:

All trucks have the connector present, but not all are pre-wired. To determine if your truck is pre-wired, check the C431 inline connector. On at least one of the plugs, the following wires should be present:

• 2015-2017 Models: Pin #6 (Black with Yellow Stripe) and Pin #7 (Purple). Note: A Brown wire with Purple stripe looks similar; ensure you identify the correct Purple wire.
• 2018-2020 Models: Refer to the detailed installation video or contact support for specific pin identification.

Trucks equipped with the Trailer Assist Lamp, as well as select trucks with a factory-installed tow package, are typically completely Plug-and-Play.

Installation Steps:

1. Prepare Vehicle: Ensure the vehicle is turned off and the parking brake is engaged.
2. Locate C431 Connector: Identify the C431 inline connector, typically found near the rear of the truck frame.
3. Connect Y-Adapter: Disconnect the factory C431 connector and insert the provided Plug-and-Play Y-Adapter harness.
4. Route Wiring: Route the wiring extensions from the Y-Adapter to the desired mounting locations for the LED lamps within the truck bed. Secure wiring to prevent snagging or damage.

Operating Instructions

The Starkey LED Bed Lights are designed for automatic and manual operation:

• Automatic Activation: The LED lamps will illuminate automatically when you open a door or unlock the truck using your key fob.
• Automatic Deactivation: The lights will gradually fade-to-off automatically when the truck is started or the doors are locked.
