Drainage Options:
The SD-54PE offers three ways to remove collected water:
1. Manual Emptying (Bucket):
- When the water bucket is full, the "Bucket Full" indicator will illuminate, and the unit will automatically shut off.
- Carefully remove the water bucket from the front of the unit.
- Empty the collected water.
- Replace the bucket firmly into the unit. The dehumidifier will resume operation.
2. Continuous Gravity Drainage:
- Locate the continuous drain outlet at the rear of the unit (refer to Figure 3).
- Attach a standard garden hose (not included) to this outlet.
- Ensure the hose is sloped downwards to a suitable drain (e.g., floor drain, large sink) to allow for gravity flow.
- Do not allow the hose to be kinked or elevated, as this will prevent proper drainage.
3. Built-in Pump Drainage:
- The unit comes with a drain pump hose. Connect one end of this hose to the pump drain outlet (usually located near the bottom rear of the unit, separate from the gravity drain).
- Direct the other end of the hose to a drain, sink, or window, ensuring the hose can pump water up to 16 feet vertically.
- Press the Pump button on the control panel to activate the pump function. The "Pump" indicator will illuminate.
- The pump will automatically activate when the water bucket is full, discharging water through the hose.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your dehumidifier.
Cleaning the Air Filter:
The "Clean Filter" indicator will illuminate after approximately 250 hours of operation, reminding you to clean the filter.
- Turn off the dehumidifier and unplug it from the power outlet.
- Locate the air filter at the rear of the unit (refer to Figure 3).
- Gently pull out the filter.
- Wash the filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and allow it to air dry completely before reinserting. Do not use a dishwasher.
- Once the filter is dry, slide it back into its slot.
- Plug in the unit and press the Filter button to reset the indicator.
Cleaning the Unit Exterior:
- Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth.
- Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or solvents.
Water Bucket Cleaning:
- Clean the water bucket periodically to prevent mold and mildew growth.
- Wash with warm water and a mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly and dry before replacing.
Storage:
- If storing the unit for an extended period, ensure the water bucket is empty and clean.
- Clean the air filter.
- Coil the power cord neatly.
- Store the unit in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
