1. Introduction
The Güde Inverter Generator ISG 800-1 is designed to provide stable and reliable power for sensitive electronic devices such as smartphones and Bluetooth speakers. Its advanced inverter technology ensures clean power output. With a compact size and a powerful 4-stroke OHV gasoline engine, it delivers a rated power of 800 W and a continuous power of 700 W. It features multiple output options including 230 V AC, 12 V DC, and two USB ports. The generator incorporates safety features such as overload protection, low oil indicator, and automatic shutdown, complying with Euro 5 exhaust gas regulations.
2. Safety Instructions
Always prioritize safety when operating the generator. Failure to follow these instructions can result in serious injury or death.
- Carbon Monoxide Hazard: Generators produce carbon monoxide, an odorless, colorless, and poisonous gas. Operate the generator outdoors in a well-ventilated area, far away from windows, doors, and vents. Never operate it indoors, in a garage, or in any enclosed space.
- Fire Hazard: Gasoline is highly flammable. Refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine off and cool. Do not smoke or allow open flames near the generator or fuel. Store gasoline in an approved container in a safe location.
- Electrical Shock Hazard: Do not operate the generator in wet conditions. Ensure all electrical connections are dry and secure. Never touch the generator with wet hands.
- Hot Surfaces: The generator's engine and muffler become very hot during operation and remain hot for some time after shutdown. Avoid touching hot surfaces to prevent burns.
- Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away from the generator at all times.
- Grounding: Always properly ground the generator before operation to prevent electrical shock.

4. Setup
Before first use, or after extended storage, perform the following setup steps.
4.1 Adding Engine Oil
The generator is shipped without engine oil. It is crucial to add the correct type and amount of oil before starting the engine.
- Place the generator on a level surface.
- Locate the oil fill cap/dipstick (refer to your specific model diagram if available).
- Remove the oil fill cap/dipstick.
- Carefully pour the recommended engine oil (see Figure 4.1 for oil type recommendations based on temperature) into the oil fill opening until it reaches the upper limit mark on the dipstick. The oil capacity is 0.25 liters.
- Replace the oil fill cap/dipstick securely.

Figure 4.1: Engine Oil Recommendations
This chart provides engine oil recommendations based on ambient temperature. For gasoline engines, suitable oil types include 10W30, 10W40, 15W40, SAE 30, and SAE 40, with specific temperature ranges for each. Always use a high-quality 4-stroke engine oil.
4.2 Adding Fuel
Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. The fuel tank capacity is 2.1 liters.
- Ensure the generator is turned OFF and the engine is cool.
- Move the generator to a well-ventilated outdoor area for refueling.
- Unscrew the fuel tank cap.
- Slowly add gasoline to the fuel tank, being careful not to overfill. Do not fill above the red indicator line inside the tank.
- Securely replace the fuel tank cap. Wipe up any spilled fuel immediately.
4.3 Grounding the Generator
Proper grounding is essential for safety.
- Connect a heavy-gauge copper wire (not included) to the generator's ground terminal.
- Connect the other end of the wire to a suitable ground source, such as a metal ground rod driven into the earth.
5. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps to start and operate your generator safely.
5.1 Starting the Engine
- Ensure the generator is on a level surface and properly grounded.
- Check oil and fuel levels.
- Turn the engine switch to the "ON" position.
- If the engine is cold, move the choke lever to the "CHOKE" position.
- Firmly grasp the recoil starter handle and pull it slowly until resistance is felt, then pull quickly and smoothly to start the engine. Repeat if necessary.
- Once the engine starts, slowly move the choke lever back to the "RUN" position.
5.2 Connecting Electrical Devices
Once the engine is running, you can connect your devices.
- Ensure the generator's output switch (if present) is in the "ON" position.
- Plug your devices into the appropriate outlets (230V AC, 12V DC, or USB).
- Do not exceed the generator's rated power output (800W peak, 700W continuous). Overloading will trigger the overload protection and shut down power output. If this happens, reduce the load and press the OUTPUT RESET button.
5.3 Using ECO Mode
The ECO mode reduces engine speed when the electrical load is low, saving fuel and reducing noise.
- To activate ECO mode, switch the ECO switch to "ON". The engine speed will adjust automatically based on the load.
- For maximum power or when starting high-load devices, switch ECO mode to "OFF".
5.4 Stopping the Engine
- Disconnect all electrical devices from the generator.
- Turn the engine switch to the "OFF" position.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your generator. Always turn off the engine and allow it to cool before performing any maintenance.
6.1 Engine Oil Change
Change the engine oil after the first 20 hours of operation, and then every 50-100 hours or annually, whichever comes first.
- Run the engine for a few minutes to warm the oil, then turn it off.
- Place a drain pan under the oil drain plug.
- Remove the oil drain plug and the oil fill cap/dipstick to allow the oil to drain completely.
- Replace the oil drain plug and refill with the recommended amount and type of new oil (0.25 liters).
- Replace the oil fill cap/dipstick. Dispose of used oil responsibly.
6.2 Air Filter Cleaning
Inspect the air filter every 25 hours or monthly, and clean or replace as needed.
- Remove the air filter cover.
- Remove the foam filter element.
- Wash the filter element in warm, soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and allow it to air dry completely.
- Lightly apply engine oil to the filter element and squeeze out any excess.
- Reinstall the filter element and cover.
6.3 Spark Plug Inspection
Inspect the spark plug every 100 hours or annually.
- Remove the spark plug cap.
- Use a spark plug wrench to remove the spark plug.
- Check for carbon deposits, discoloration, or electrode wear. Clean or replace if necessary.
- Set the spark plug gap according to the specifications in your manual (typically 0.6-0.7 mm).
- Reinstall the spark plug and cap.
6.4 Storage
For long-term storage (more than 30 days), prepare the generator as follows:
- Drain the fuel tank and carburetor, or add a fuel stabilizer.
- Change the engine oil.
- Remove the spark plug and pour a small amount of engine oil into the cylinder. Pull the recoil starter a few times to distribute the oil, then reinstall the spark plug.
- Clean the exterior of the generator.
- Store in a clean, dry, well-ventilated area.
