1. Introduction and Product Overview
This CENMING Universal Ceiling Fan Remote Control Kit is designed to provide convenient wireless control over your ceiling fan's speed and light functions. It allows for separate control of fan speeds (High, Medium, Low, Off) and light brightness (On, Off, Dimming).
The kit includes a receiver unit that installs into your ceiling fan and a handheld remote control transmitter.
2. Product Features
- 3-Speed Fan Control: Adjust fan speed to High, Medium, Low, or turn Off.
- Light Control: Turn lights On/Off and dim compatible bulbs.
- Luminous Light Button: The light button glows in the dark for easy location of the remote.
- Universal Compatibility: Works with most major 3-speed AC ceiling fans.
- Powerful Receiver: Rated for 240W, supporting more light bulbs and enhancing receiver longevity. Utilizes upgraded relays for improved dimming functionality.

This image illustrates the remote control being used with a ceiling fan. An inset diagram shows the receiver unit installed within the ceiling fan canopy. Key features highlighted are 3-speed fan control (High, Medium, Low, Off), light control (On, Off, Dimming), and a luminous light button for visibility in the dark.
3. Compatibility
This universal kit is designed for replacement or upgrade of existing ceiling fans. It is compatible with:
- Most major 3-speed AC ceiling fans, including brands like Harbor Breeze, Hunter, Hampton Bay, Litex, Home Decorators Collection, Westinghouse, and Honeywell.
- Most downrod style fans.
- Dimmable LED, dimmable CFL, halogen, and incandescent light bulbs.
Important Notes:
- Not recommended for use with hugger style fans, wall-mounted fans, or exhaust-type fans.
- Do not use with solid state fans.
- If your fan has a pull chain switch, ensure it is set to the highest speed and the light is ON before using the wireless remote control.
- Non-dimmable LED/CFL bulbs will only support the On/Off function and may flicker if dimming is attempted.
- This remote does not have a reverse button, but it is compatible with fans that have a reverse switch on the fan unit itself.

This image details the compatibility of the remote control kit. It is compatible with most downrod style ceiling fans, dimmable LED lamps, dimmable CFL lamps, and halogen and incandescent lamps. It is not recommended for use with wall-mounted fans or exhaust-type fans. Non-dimmable LED/CFL lamps will only support on/off functionality.

This image shows the back of the remote control, indicating where to check for the FCC ID or model number. A list of compatible FCC IDs and model numbers is provided, including 2AAZPFAN53T / FAN-53T, L3HFAN11T / FAN-11T, KUJCE9103, CHQ7030T / UC7030T, 2AAZPFAN35TI, L3HFAN35T, L3HFAN35T1, L3H2010FANHD / FAN-HD, L3H2014FANHD / FAN-HD, FAN-HD5, and Standard-RR7079T.

5. Safety Precautions
WARNING: HIGH VOLTAGE!
- Always disconnect power by removing the fuse or switching off the circuit breaker before installation or maintenance.
- Electrical wiring must meet all local and national electrical code requirements. If you are unsure, consult a qualified electrician.
- Supply for the fan must be 110/120V, 60Hz.
- Maximum motor amps: 1.0A.
- Maximum light watts: 240W (incandescent or ballast). Exceeding these limits can cause serious injury or death.
6. Setup: Code Setting
Before installation, you must set the code switches on both the receiver and the transmitter (remote control) to match.
- Locate the DIP switches on the receiver unit. These are typically small red switches labeled 1, 2, 3, 4.
- Open the battery compartment on the back of the remote control to access its DIP switches.
- Set the DIP switches on both the receiver and the remote control to the exact same positions. Avoid setting all switches to the 'up' position, as this is the factory default and may cause interference with other devices.
- The remote control requires one 9V battery (not included). Insert the battery after setting the codes.

This image illustrates the DIP switch settings on both the receiver unit and the remote control. It emphasizes the importance of setting identical codes on both devices for proper communication. A 9V battery is required for the remote control and is not included.
7. Installation: Receiver Wiring
Follow these steps carefully to install the receiver into your ceiling fan. Ensure power is disconnected before proceeding.
- Disconnect Power: Turn off the power to the ceiling fan at the circuit breaker.
- Access Wiring: Remove the canopy of your ceiling fan to expose the wiring.
- Wire the Receiver: Connect the receiver wires to the fan and household wiring according to the diagram below. Use the provided plastic wire connectors for secure connections.
- Input (from household wiring):
- Black (AC IN L) to Household Black (Live)
- White (AC IN N) to Household White (Neutral) - Output (to fan):
- Black (TO MOTOR L) to Fan Black (Motor Live)
- Blue (TO LIGHT L) to Fan Blue (Light Live)
- White (TO MOTOR N) to Fan White (Motor Neutral) - Antenna: Position the brown antenna wire higher, up through the ceiling or outside the junction box, for optimal range.
- Input (from household wiring):
- Position Receiver: Carefully tuck the receiver into the fan canopy, ensuring no wires are pinched.
- Reattach Canopy: Securely reattach the fan canopy.
- Restore Power: Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker.

This image presents a comprehensive guide for installation and setup. It includes critical safety warnings regarding high voltage and the need to disconnect power. Diagrams illustrate how to set the code switches on both the transmitter and receiver, and a detailed wiring diagram shows how to connect the receiver to the ceiling fan and power supply within the canopy.
8. Operation
Once the receiver is installed and codes are matched, you can operate your ceiling fan and light using the remote control.
- Fan Speed Buttons:
- HI: Sets fan to high speed.
- MED: Sets fan to medium speed.
- LOW: Sets fan to low speed.
- OFF: Turns the fan off. - Light Button:
- Press once to turn the light On or Off.
- Press and hold to dim the light (for compatible dimmable bulbs). Release when desired brightness is reached.
9. Troubleshooting Guide
If you encounter issues with your remote control kit, refer to the following troubleshooting steps:
- Fails to Operate:
- Verify power to the receiver.
- Check if the receiver is wired correctly according to the installation diagram.
- Ensure the fan's manual speed control (if present) is in the highest position.
- Confirm the light kit switch (if present) is turned on.
- Check if the battery in the transmitter is good and correctly inserted.
- Ensure the code switches are set to the exact same positions in both the transmitter and receiver.
- Won't Operate at Distance:
If the transmitter operates the fan/light kit when close, but not from 20 feet away:- Try placing the brown antenna wire higher, up through the ceiling or outside the junction box, to improve signal reception.
- Light Flickers or Does Not Dim:
- Ensure you are using dimmable LED, dimmable CFL, halogen, or incandescent bulbs. Non-dimmable LED/CFL bulbs will only support On/Off functionality and may flicker if dimming is attempted.
