3. Setup

3.1 Wired Connection

  1. Locate the USB Type-C port on the keyboard.
  2. Connect the provided USB Type-C cable to the keyboard.
  3. Connect the other end of the USB cable to an available USB port on your computer.
  4. The keyboard will be automatically recognized by your operating system.

3.2 Bluetooth Connection

The keyboard supports connection to up to three Bluetooth devices.

  1. Ensure the keyboard is charged or connected via USB for initial setup.
  2. Press Fn + Z, Fn + X, or Fn + C to select one of the three Bluetooth channels. The corresponding key will flash rapidly, indicating pairing mode.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning the Keyboard

To maintain optimal performance and appearance:

  • Disconnect the keyboard from your computer.
  • Use a keycap puller (included) to carefully remove keycaps for thorough cleaning.
  • Use compressed air to remove dust and debris from between the switches.
  • Wipe keycaps and the keyboard surface with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals.
  • Ensure all components are dry before reattaching keycaps and reconnecting the keyboard.

5.2 Hot-Swapping Switches

The GK61 features hot-swappable switches, allowing for easy replacement without soldering:

  1. Disconnect the keyboard from your computer.
  2. Use the keycap puller to remove the desired keycap.
  3. Use the switch puller (often integrated with the keycap puller or a separate tool) to gently grip the top and bottom clips of the switch.
  4. Pull the switch straight up to remove it from the PCB.
  5. Align the pins of the new switch with the holes on the PCB. Ensure the pins are straight.
  6. Gently press the new switch into place until it clicks securely. Do not force it.
  7. Replace the keycap.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Keyboard not responding (Wired): Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the keyboard and the computer. Try a different USB port or cable.
  • Keyboard not responding (Bluetooth): Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device. Re-pair the keyboard by pressing Fn + Z/X/C until the key flashes, then re-select "GK61" on your device. Check keyboard battery level.
  • RGB lighting not working: Ensure the keyboard is powered. Use Fn + \| to cycle through effects and Fn + ;: to adjust brightness. Check software settings.
