- General Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the device with a soft, dry cloth.
- Cable Care: Avoid sharp bends or excessive pulling on the USB cable to prevent internal wire damage.
- Storage: Store the reader in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your HR52 Bonito reader, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Scanner does not power on or respond. | USB cable not properly connected or faulty USB port. | Ensure the USB cable is securely plugged into both the scanner and the computer. Try a different USB port on your computer. |
| Scanner reads some barcodes but not others. | Barcode type not enabled, damaged barcode, or poor print quality. | Verify the barcode is not damaged. Ensure the specific barcode symbology is enabled in the scanner's configuration (refer to advanced programming guide if available). Try scanning a known good barcode. |
| Scanned data is incorrect or incomplete. | Incorrect scanner configuration or software issue on host computer. | Check the input settings of the application receiving the data. Ensure the scanner's output format matches the expected input. Restart the computer. |
| Autosense mode not working. | Autosense feature disabled or scanner not positioned correctly. | Ensure the autosense feature is enabled (if applicable, via programming barcodes). Position the scanner on a stable surface with the scanning window facing upwards, allowing barcodes to be presented to it. |
