  • Live View: Open the app and select your camera to view a live 1080p HD video feed.
  • Two-Way Audio: Use the microphone icon in the live view to speak through the camera's speaker and hear responses from visitors.

2. Motion Detection and Alerts

Customize your security settings to receive timely notifications:

  • Motion Zones: In the app settings, define specific areas within the camera's field of view where motion detection should be active, minimizing false alerts.
  • Sensitivity: Adjust motion detection sensitivity to suit your environment.
  • Alerts: Enable push notifications on your smartphone to receive instant alerts when motion is detected.

3. LED Floodlight Control

The integrated 700-lumen LED floodlights enhance visibility and act as a deterrent:

  • Motion-Triggered Lighting: By default, the floodlights activate automatically when motion is detected during low-light conditions.
  • Manual Control: You can manually turn the floodlights on or off via the Blink Home Monitor app.

4. Video Storage Options

Choose how your video clips and photos are stored:

  • Blink Subscription Plan: An optional subscription plan allows for cloud storage of video clips and photos.
  • Local Storage: Utilize the included Blink Sync Module 2 with a USB flash drive (sold separately) for local storage without a subscription.

Maintenance

1. Battery Replacement

The Blink Floodlight Camera system is designed for long battery life, up to two years for both the Outdoor camera (AA lithium metal) and the Floodlight (D-Cell) under default settings. Battery life varies based on device settings, usage, and environmental factors.

  • Camera Batteries: When the app indicates low battery for the Blink Outdoor camera, replace the two 1.5V AA lithium metal batteries. Do not use rechargeable batteries.
  • Floodlight Batteries: When the floodlight's performance diminishes or the app indicates low battery, replace the four D-Cell batteries.
  • Disposal: Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.

2. Cleaning

To ensure clear video quality and optimal floodlight performance:

  • Periodically wipe the camera lens and floodlight covers with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the device.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Blink Floodlight Camera, consider the following common solutions:

  • No Power/Not Turning On: Ensure all batteries are correctly inserted and fully charged. Check the Sync Module 2 power connection.
  • Connectivity Issues: Verify your Wi-Fi network is active and the Sync Module 2 is within range. Ensure your Wi-Fi is 2.4 GHz. Try restarting your router and Sync Module 2.
  • Poor Video Quality: Check the camera lens for dirt or obstructions. Ensure adequate lighting for night vision.
  • Motion Detection Not Triggering: Adjust motion detection zones and sensitivity in the app. Ensure there are no physical obstructions blocking the camera's view.
  • Floodlights Not Activating: Check D-Cell battery levels. Verify floodlight settings in the app to ensure motion-triggered activation is enabled.
  • App Not Responding: Close and reopen the Blink Home Monitor app. Ensure your smartphone meets the minimum OS requirements.
