5. Installation Guide

Installation is designed to be straightforward, requiring only a screwdriver. Follow these steps for proper setup:

  1. Prepare the Door: Ensure your door meets the thickness requirements (1-3/8" to 2-1/2") and that the existing boreholes are standard.
  2. Install the Latch: Insert the latch assembly into the door edge. Adjust the backset if necessary to 2-3/8" or 2-3/4". Secure with screws.
  3. Install Exterior Keypad Knob: Place the exterior keypad knob through the door, ensuring the spindle aligns with the latch mechanism.
  4. Install Interior Knob: Attach the interior knob, connecting it to the exterior assembly and securing it with the provided mounting screws. Ensure all wires are properly connected and tucked away.
  5. Insert Batteries: Open the battery cover on the interior knob and insert 4 AA batteries (not included).
  6. Test Operation: After installation, test the lock's functionality using the default master code or a physical key before closing the door completely.

6. Setup and Programming

Your keypad door knob comes with a default master code. It is highly recommended to change this immediately after installation.

6.1. Changing the Master Code

  1. Enter the default master code (refer to your quick programming manual for the default code).
  2. Press the "Check" button (usually a checkmark symbol).
  3. Enter your new master code (4-15 digits).
  4. Press the "Check" button again to confirm.

6.2. Adding User Codes

You can add up to 50 unique user codes for family members, guests, or staff.

  1. Enter the master code.
  2. Press the "Check" button.
  3. Enter the new user code (4-15 digits).
  4. Press the "Check" button to confirm.

6.3. Deleting User Codes

To remove an existing user code:

  1. Enter the master code.
  2. Press the "Check" button.
  3. Enter the user code you wish to delete.
  4. Press the "Check" button to confirm deletion.

7. Operating Instructions

7.1. Unlocking with a Passcode

  1. Touch the keypad to activate the backlight.
  2. Enter your valid user code or master code.
  3. Press the "Check" button. The lock will unlock.
  4. Turn the knob to open the door.

7.2. Unlocking with a Physical Key

7.3. Auto-Lock Function

The lock automatically engages after 4 seconds of being unlocked. This timer can typically be adjusted from 2 seconds up to 12 hours via programming settings (refer to your manual).

7.4. Manual Lock

If auto-lock is disabled or you prefer manual control, you can manually lock the door from the inside by turning the interior knob.

7.5. Password Disguise (Anti-Peeping)

To prevent others from observing your code, you can enter random digits before or after your actual code. The lock will still recognize the correct sequence within the longer entry.

Example: If your code is "1234", you can enter "567123489" and the lock will still open.

8. Maintenance

8.1. Battery Replacement

The lock requires 4 AA batteries. When the low battery alarm sounds, replace all four batteries promptly.

8.2. USB Type-C Emergency Power

In case the batteries completely run out, you can temporarily power the lock using a USB Type-C cable connected to a power bank. This allows you to enter your code and replace the batteries.

8.3. Cleaning

Wipe the keypad and knob surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.

9. Troubleshooting
