5. Setup and Installation
Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with local electrical codes and regulations.
- Preparation: Ensure the main power supply to the electrical panel is completely disconnected and verified with a voltage tester.
- Mounting: The circuit breaker is designed for DIN rail mounting. Hook the top edge of the breaker onto the DIN rail and press down firmly until it clicks into place.
- Wiring:
- Connect the incoming live and neutral wires to the top terminals of the circuit breaker.
- Connect the outgoing live and neutral wires to the bottom terminals, leading to the circuit being protected.
- Ensure all connections are secure. The recommended tightening torque for terminals is 2.4 Nm.
- Verification: Double-check all wiring connections for correctness and tightness.
- Restore Power: Once installation is complete and verified, restore power to the main service panel.

6. Operating Instructions
- Switching ON: To energize the circuit, push the toggle switch upwards to the 'I-ON' position. The visual window should display green.
- Switching OFF: To de-energize the circuit, push the toggle switch downwards to the 'O-OFF' position. The visual window should display red.
- Automatic Tripping: In the event of an overload or short circuit, the circuit breaker will automatically trip to the 'O-OFF' position, interrupting the power supply to the protected circuit. The visual window will show red.
- Resetting After Trip: Before resetting a tripped breaker, identify and rectify the cause of the trip (e.g., remove overloaded devices, fix short circuits). Once the fault is cleared, push the toggle switch fully down to reset the internal mechanism, then push it upwards to the 'I-ON' position to restore power.
7. Maintenance
The Aigostar circuit breaker is designed for reliable, maintenance-free operation under normal conditions. However, periodic inspection is recommended.
- Visual Inspection: Annually inspect the circuit breaker for any signs of physical damage, discoloration, or loose connections.
- Cleaning: If necessary, gently clean the exterior of the circuit breaker with a dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use liquids or abrasive cleaners.
- Testing: While not typically required for residential or light commercial use, a qualified electrician may perform periodic operational tests if deemed necessary for specific applications.
- Safety First: Always ensure power is disconnected before performing any inspection or cleaning.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your circuit breaker, consider the following:
- Breaker Trips Frequently:
- Overload: The circuit may be drawing too much current. Unplug some devices from the circuit and try resetting the breaker.
- Short Circuit: A direct connection between live and neutral wires can cause a trip. Inspect wiring and appliances for damage.
- Ground Fault: Though this is a thermal magnetic breaker, a severe fault could still cause a trip.
- Faulty Appliance: A defective appliance connected to the circuit might be causing the trip.
- Breaker Does Not Reset:
- Ensure the fault (overload or short circuit) has been cleared. The breaker will not reset if a fault persists.
- If the breaker still won't reset after clearing the fault, it may be damaged and require replacement by a qualified electrician.
- No Power to Circuit, Breaker ON:
- Check the main service panel for other tripped breakers or fuses.
- Verify wiring connections to the circuit breaker are secure.
- If all checks fail, consult a qualified electrician.
