4. Operating Instructions

Your Powershred LX50 is designed for ease of use. Follow these steps for shredding:

  1. Power On: Locate the control switch on top of the shredder head. Slide the switch to the 'ON' (Auto) position. The shredder is now ready for operation.
  2. Engage SafetyLock: To prevent accidental operation, slide the SafetyLock switch to the locked position when the shredder is not in use or when children are present.
  3. Feed Material: Insert up to 9 sheets of paper (or one credit card) straight into the paper entry slot. The shredder will automatically start and stop once the material has passed through.

5. Maintenance

Emptying the Waste Bin:

When the waste bin is full, the shredder will stop operating. To empty:

For optimal performance and to extend the life of your shredder, it is recommended to oil the cutting blades periodically, especially after emptying the waste bin 2-3 times or if performance decreases. Use Fellowes shredder oil (sold separately).

  2. Run a few sheets of paper through the shredder to distribute the oil.
