Setup and Assembly
Your Beta C24S/5-B Tool Storage Cabinet comes largely pre-assembled. However, some components, such as the castors and side handle/storage, may require attachment. Follow these steps for initial setup:
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials. Inspect the cabinet for any signs of damage during transit. Retain packaging for future transport or returns if necessary.
- Attaching Castors: Lay the cabinet on its side on a soft, protective surface to avoid scratching the finish. Attach the four 125mm castors to the designated mounting points on the bottom of the cabinet using the provided hardware. Ensure the two steering castors (one with a brake) are positioned at the front for easier maneuverability. Tighten all fasteners securely.
- Attaching Side Handle: Locate the pre-drilled holes on one side of the cabinet. Align the metal side handle and secure it with the provided screws.
- Attaching Side Storage (Optional): If included, attach the side storage bin to the opposite side of the cabinet or below the handle using the provided hardware.
- Positioning: Once all components are securely attached, carefully stand the cabinet upright. Position it on a flat, stable surface in your desired location. Engage the brake on the steering castor to prevent unintended movement.

Operating Instructions
Operating your Beta tool cabinet is straightforward. Follow these guidelines for optimal use:
- Drawer Operation: The drawers are equipped with smooth ball-bearing slides. To open a drawer, gently pull the handle. To close, push the drawer firmly until it is fully seated. Avoid slamming drawers to ensure longevity of the slides.
- Locking Mechanism: The cabinet features a front centralized safety lock. Insert the key into the lock cylinder located on the front side of the cabinet. Turn the key to lock all drawers simultaneously. Turn the key in the opposite direction to unlock. Remove the key when not in use to prevent loss.
- Mobility and Braking: To move the cabinet, ensure the castor brake is disengaged. Use the side handle to push or pull the cabinet to your desired location. Once positioned, engage the brake on the steering castor to stabilize the cabinet and prevent accidental rolling.
- Loading Drawers: Distribute the weight evenly across the drawers. Avoid overloading individual drawers or the cabinet as a whole. The maximum static load capacity for the worktop is 800 kg (1763 lbs).

Maintenance
Regular maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your tool cabinet:
- Cleaning: Wipe down the exterior surfaces and thermoplastic worktop regularly with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the finish.
- Drawer Slides: Periodically inspect the ball-bearing drawer slides for debris or wear. Clean them as needed and apply a light lubricant (e.g., silicone spray) to ensure smooth operation.
- Castors: Check the castors for accumulated dirt, dust, or tangled debris (e.g., hair, string). Clean them to ensure free rotation. If necessary, apply a small amount of lubricant to the castor axles.
- Fasteners: Over time, screws and bolts may loosen. Periodically check all fasteners, especially those on the castors and handle, and tighten them if necessary.
- Drawer Mats: The foamed rubber mats in the drawers can be removed and cleaned if they become dirty. Ensure they are dry before placing them back in the drawers.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your tool cabinet, consider the following common solutions:
- Drawers are stiff or difficult to open/close:
- Check if the cabinet is on a level surface. Uneven surfaces can cause misalignment.
- Inspect drawer slides for obstructions or excessive dirt. Clean and lubricate as per the Maintenance section.
- Ensure drawers are not overloaded or that weight is evenly distributed.
- Cabinet does not roll smoothly:
- Verify that the castor brake is fully disengaged.
- Check castors for debris (e.g., tangled hair, string) that might impede movement. Clean them thoroughly.
- Ensure castor fasteners are securely tightened.
- Lock mechanism is not working:
- Ensure all drawers are fully closed before attempting to lock the cabinet.
- Check if the key is fully inserted and turning freely. Do not force the key.
- Inspect the lock cylinder for any visible damage or obstructions.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, please contact Beta customer support for further assistance.
