  2. Charging: Place your Roomba onto the Clean Base to charge. The light ring around the CLEAN button will pulse white while charging and turn solid white when fully charged.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance of your Roomba i7.

  • Emptying the Dust Bin / Clean Base:

If using the Clean Base, the robot will automatically empty its dust bin into the disposal bag in the base. The disposal bag typically needs replacement every 60 days, depending on usage.

If not using a Clean Base, manually empty the robot's dust bin after each cleaning cycle. Press the bin release button and slide out the bin. Open the bin door and empty debris into a trash can.

The Clean Base automatically disposes of collected dirt, reducing the frequency of manual emptying.

  • Cleaning the High-Efficiency Filter: The filter should be cleaned weekly (more often if you have pets). Remove the filter from the dust bin and tap it against a trash can to dislodge debris. Do not wash the filter. Replace the filter every 2-3 months.
  • Cleaning Brushes: Remove the multi-surface rubber brushes and clean any hair or debris wrapped around them or trapped underneath. This should be done weekly.
  • Cleaning Sensors: Wipe the cliff sensors, charging contacts, and front caster wheel with a clean, dry cloth. Dirty sensors can affect navigation and cleaning performance.

Troubleshooting

  • Robot gets stuck: Ensure the cleaning area is free of loose cables, small rugs, or other items that could entangle the robot. For areas with many chair legs, consider temporarily moving chairs to facilitate cleaning.
  • Poor navigation or missed spots: Regularly clean the robot's sensors as described in the Maintenance section. Ensure the home map in the app is up-to-date.
  • Robot not charging: Verify that the charging contacts on both the robot and the Clean Base are clean and free of debris. Ensure the Clean Base is plugged in and receiving power.
