3. Installation and Setup
The AEG IKB64443IB Induction Hob is designed for freestanding installation. For safety and optimal performance, professional installation by a qualified electrician is strongly recommended.
3.1 Unpacking
- Carefully remove the hob from its packaging.
- Inspect the appliance for any signs of damage. Do not install if damaged.
- Ensure all included components, such as the machine body, are present.
3.2 Electrical Connection
- The hob requires a 240 Volts electrical supply.
- The electrical connection must comply with local wiring regulations.

4. Operating Instructions
This section details how to use your AEG MaxiSense Induction Hob for various cooking tasks.
4.1 Turning On/Off
- To turn on the hob, touch the main power symbol (①) for a few seconds.
- To turn off the hob, touch the main power symbol again.
4.2 Selecting a Cooking Zone and Setting Power
- Place suitable cookware on the desired cooking zone.
- Touch the corresponding cooking zone selection control.
- Adjust the power level using the '+' or '-' controls, or by sliding your finger along the power level bar. There are 14 power settings available.
4.3 MaxiSense Automatic Pan Recognition
The MaxiSense technology automatically detects the size and position of your cookware within the cooking zone. This ensures efficient heating by only activating the necessary area.
4.4 Bridge Function
The bridge function allows you to combine two cooking zones into one large zone, perfect for larger or irregularly shaped pots and pans.

- To activate the bridge function, place the large cookware over the two zones you wish to combine.
- Select one of the zones, then touch the bridge function symbol (often represented by two interlocking rectangles or a bridge icon).
- Adjust the power level for the combined zone.
4.5 Power Boost (P) Function
The Power Boost function provides maximum power to a cooking zone for a short period, ideal for rapidly boiling water or searing food.

- Select the desired cooking zone.
- Touch the 'P' symbol or increase the power level beyond the maximum normal setting. The display will show 'P'.
- The Power Boost function will automatically deactivate after a set time or if the zone overheats.
4.6 Timer Functions
- Countdown Timer: Set a specific cooking duration for a zone. The zone will switch off automatically when the time expires.
- Minute Minder: A general timer that does not affect the cooking zones.
- Refer to the control panel symbols for setting and adjusting timers.
4.7 Child Safety Lock
To prevent accidental activation or changes to settings, activate the child safety lock.
- With the hob switched off, touch and hold the lock symbol for a few seconds.
- The hob will indicate that it is locked.
- To deactivate, touch and hold the lock symbol again.
4.8 Hob2Hood Connection
If you have a compatible AEG Hob2Hood cooker hood, the hob can automatically control its fan speed and lighting. Ensure both appliances are set to connect. Refer to your cooker hood's manual for specific pairing instructions.
5. Maintenance and Cleaning
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your induction hob.
5.1 Daily Cleaning
- Always ensure the hob is cool before cleaning.
- Wipe the ceramic glass surface with a soft cloth and warm soapy water after each use.
- For stubborn stains, use a specialized ceramic hob cleaner and a hob scraper.
- Rinse thoroughly and dry with a clean cloth to prevent water marks.
- The surface around the pan remains relatively cool, preventing spills from baking onto the surface, making cleaning easier.
5.2 Avoiding Damage
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals, as these can scratch the surface.
- Avoid dropping heavy or sharp objects on the hob surface.
- Do not drag cookware across the surface, as this can cause scratches.
