3. Safety Information

Always prioritize safety when handling batteries. Read the entire manual before use. Ensure proper ventilation when charging or discharging. Avoid short circuits by using appropriate cables and ensuring secure connections. Do not expose the battery to extreme temperatures or direct flame. This LiFePO4 battery is not suitable for starting engines or golf carts.

  • Always put on the insulating covers on the post bolts to avoid metal or other objects touching the positive and negative terminals of the battery at the same time.
  • Install the battery upright with post bolts facing up. It could not be mounted upside down.
  • Tightly screw in the post bolts. Having loose battery terminals will cause the terminals to build up heat resulting in damage to the battery.
  • This battery is not intended to be used to start any devices.
  • Do not use as a starting battery.

4. Setup

4.1 Initial Charge

Upon receiving your Redodo LiFePO4 battery, it is recommended to fully charge it before first use. The battery typically arrives with a partial charge (around 50%).

4.2 Connecting for Larger Capacity (Series & Parallel)

The Redodo 12V 100Ah LiFePO4 battery can be connected in parallel and in series to achieve larger capacity or higher voltage systems. It supports up to 4S (series) or 4P (parallel) configurations, allowing for a maximum of 400Ah capacity or 48V (51.2V) voltage.

  • Series Connection: Connect batteries in series to increase voltage (e.g., two 12V batteries in series create a 24V system).
  • Parallel Connection: Connect batteries in parallel to increase capacity (e.g., two 100Ah batteries in parallel create a 200Ah system).
  • Always use identical batteries with the same battery capacity (Ah) and BMS (A).
  • Purchase from the same brand (Redodo) and within one month.
  • Ensure all batteries have the same voltage before connecting.

6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Redodo LiFePO4 battery, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Regular Charging: For long-term storage, it is best to store your battery at 30%-50% capacity and recharge every three months.
  • Temperature: The battery is recommended to be operated at a temperature of 0°C to 45°C (32°F to 113°F) for charging and -20°C to 60°C (-4°F to 140°F) for discharging. For long-term storage, store in a tempered container and away from children.
  • Clean Terminals: Periodically inspect and clean battery terminals to prevent corrosion and ensure good conductivity.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Redodo LiFePO4 battery, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • Battery Not Charging:
    • Check charger connections and ensure it's a LiFePO4 compatible charger.
    • Verify the battery voltage. If voltage is too low (e.g., below 11.0V), it may not accept a charge from a standard LiFePO4 charger. A temporary jump from another 12V battery might be needed to raise the voltage enough for the charger to engage.
    • Ensure the ambient temperature is within the recommended charging range (0°C to 45°C).
  • Low Power Output:
    • Inspect all cable connections for tightness. Loose connections can cause voltage drops and reduced performance.
    • Ensure the load (inverter, appliance) is not exceeding the battery's 100A continuous discharge current or 1280W maximum load power. The BMS will cut off power if limits are exceeded.
  • Battery Not Holding Charge:
    • Check for parasitic drains in your system.
    • Ensure the battery is being fully charged to 14.6V.
    • For long-term storage, ensure the battery is stored at 30%-50% capacity and recharged every three months.

If issues persist, please refer to the "Warranty and Support" section for contact information.
