4. Setup Guide

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future transport or storage.
  2. Placement: Place the digital piano on a stable, flat surface. Ensure adequate space for playing and connections.
  3. Music Rest Installation: Insert the music rest into the designated slots on the top panel of the piano.
  4. Sustain Pedal Connection: Connect the sustain pedal cable to the "SUSTAIN" jack on the rear panel of the piano.

  5. Power Connection: Connect the power adapter to the DC IN jack on the rear panel, then plug the adapter into a standard electrical outlet.
  6. Headphone Connection (Optional): For private practice, connect headphones to either of the two headphone jacks on the front or rear panel.
  7. USB/MIDI Connection (Optional): To connect to a computer or smart device for MIDI functionality or app integration, use the provided USB cable to connect the piano's USB port to your device.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

Press the Power button located on the left side of the control panel to turn the piano on or off.

5.2 Volume Adjustment

Rotate the Volume knob (labeled MIN/MAX) on the left side of the control panel to adjust the overall sound output level.

5.3 Using the Touch Panel

The EP-120 features an intuitive touch panel for accessing various functions:

  • MP3 Controls: Use the MP3 section to play, pause, skip tracks, or adjust MP3 volume if an MP3 device is connected.
  • Tone/Demo/Rhythm: Select different instrument tones, play demo songs, or choose from various rhythm patterns.
  • Effect: Apply various digital effects to your sound.
  • MIDI/Transposition: Access MIDI settings or transpose the pitch of the keyboard.

5.4 Selecting Tones and Rhythms

Press the Tone/Demo/Rhythm button on the touch panel, then use the corresponding keys or navigation buttons to browse and select desired tones or rhythms. The EP-120 offers 8 excellent sounds and 128 rhythms.

5.5 Metronome Function

Activate the metronome by pressing the dedicated Metronome button. Adjust the tempo as needed for practice.

5.6 Sustain Pedal Usage

Press and hold the sustain pedal to prolong the notes played on the keyboard, mimicking an acoustic piano's sustain function.

5.7 Connecting to External Devices

The MIDI and USB ports allow connection to computers, tablets, or smartphones. This enables use with music learning apps, digital audio workstations (DAWs), and other MIDI-compatible software.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

Wipe the piano's surface with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth and then dry thoroughly. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents, or waxes, as these can damage the finish.

6.2 Storage

When not in use, store the piano in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and high humidity. Cover the keys to protect them from dust.
