Maintenance
Cleaning and Decalcification
Regular cleaning and decalcification are essential to maintain optimal performance and extend the life of your steamer. The anti-calcification filter allows for the use of normal tap water, but decalcification is still recommended periodically.
- Empty Water Tank: After each use, empty any remaining water from the tank.
- Decalcification Process: If the steamer is not producing steam or enough steam, it may need decalcification.
- Prepare Solution: Mix a solution of 2.5 cups of white vinegar and 5 cups of distilled water.
- Fill Tank: Place the water tank back into the unit and fill it with the vinegar solution.
- Run Steamer: Plug in the unit and let it run until about half the liquid has been steamed off.
- Turn Off and Unplug: Turn off the steamer and unplug it. Allow it to sit for 30 minutes.
- Repeat if Necessary: Repeat the above steps 2-3 times until a steady steam rate returns.
- Rinse: After decalcification, run one cycle of fresh distilled water through the system before using again on garments.
