Model: MR08DE03

1. Important Safety Instructions

When using your steam iron, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and personal injury. Read all instructions before using the iron.

  • Use the iron only for its intended use.
  • To protect against the risk of electric shock, do not immerse the iron in water or other liquids.
  • Always turn the iron OFF before plugging or unplugging from the electrical outlet. Never yank cord to disconnect from outlet; instead, grasp plug and pull to disconnect.
  • Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces. Let the iron cool completely before putting away. Loop cord loosely around the iron when storing.
  • Always disconnect the iron from the electrical outlet when filling with water or emptying, and when not in use.
  • Do not operate the iron with a damaged cord or if the iron has been dropped or damaged. To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble the iron. Contact qualified service personnel for examination and repair. Incorrect reassembly can cause a risk of electric shock when the iron is used.
  • Close supervision is necessary for any appliance being used by or near children. Do not leave the iron unattended while connected or on an ironing board.
  • Burns can occur from touching hot metal parts, hot water, or steam. Use caution when you turn a steam iron upside down – there may be hot water in the reservoir.
  • The iron must be used and rested on a stable surface.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Filling the Water Tank

  1. Ensure the iron is unplugged from the power outlet.
  2. Set the steam control to the 'Dry Ironing' position (no steam).
  3. Open the water inlet cover.
  4. Using a measuring cup, carefully pour tap water into the water tank up to the 'MAX' fill line. Do not overfill.
  5. Close the water inlet cover securely.

4.2 Temperature Control and Fabric Selection

  1. Plug the iron into a suitable electrical outlet.
  2. Turn the thermostat dial to the desired temperature setting based on the fabric type. Refer to the garment's care label.
  3. The indicator light will illuminate, indicating the iron is heating. It will turn off when the selected temperature is reached.

4.3 Steam Functions

  • Continuous Steam: For steam ironing, ensure the temperature dial is set to a steam-appropriate setting (usually between '••' and 'MAX'). Adjust the steam control slider to the desired steam output.
  • Steam Burst: Press the steam burst button for an extra powerful shot of steam to remove stubborn wrinkles. Wait a few seconds between bursts.
  • Vertical Steam: The iron can be used to steam hanging garments, drapes, or upholstery. Hold the iron vertically, press the steam burst button, and direct the steam towards the fabric.

4.4 Dry Ironing

For dry ironing, ensure the water tank is empty or the steam control is set to the 'Dry Ironing' position. Select the desired temperature and iron as usual.

4.5 Anti-Drip Function

The anti-drip system prevents water from leaking from the soleplate when the iron's temperature is too low for steam production. If you notice dripping, increase the temperature setting.

4.6 3-Way Automatic Shut-Off

For safety, the iron is equipped with a 3-way automatic shut-off feature:

  • If left vertically on its heel rest, the iron will automatically turn off after approximately 8 minutes.
  • If left horizontally on its soleplate, the iron will automatically turn off after approximately 30 seconds.
  • If tipped over, the iron will automatically turn off after approximately 30 seconds.

To reactivate the iron, simply move it. The indicator light will illuminate as it reheats to the selected temperature.

5. Maintenance and Care

5.1 Self-Cleaning Function

The self-cleaning function helps remove mineral deposits from the steam chamber. Perform this function regularly, especially if you use hard water.

  1. Fill the water tank to the 'MAX' line.
  2. Set the steam control to 'Dry Ironing' and the temperature dial to 'MAX'.
  3. Plug in the iron and wait for the indicator light to turn off, indicating it has reached maximum temperature.
  4. Unplug the iron.
  5. Hold the iron horizontally over a sink. Press and hold the self-clean button. Hot water and steam will be expelled from the soleplate, flushing out impurities.
  6. Gently rock the iron back and forth until the water tank is empty.
  7. Release the self-clean button.
  8. Reheat the iron to dry the soleplate, then unplug and store.

5.2 Anti-Calc System

The built-in anti-calc system helps reduce the build-up of limescale in the iron, prolonging its lifespan. Regular self-cleaning is still recommended.

5.3 Emptying and Storage

  • After each use, unplug the iron and allow it to cool completely.
  • Empty any remaining water from the tank.
  • Store the iron upright on its heel rest in a safe, dry place.

5.4 Cleaning the Soleplate

To clean the soleplate, ensure the iron is cool and unplugged. Wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner. Do not use metallic scouring pads or harsh chemicals.
