Product Overview

Design and Build Quality

The IE 900 features a robust and lightweight construction. The earphone shells are precision-milled from a single block of aluminum, ensuring durability and acoustic integrity. This design contributes to the monitors' super robust nature and premium feel.

Sound Technology

At the core of the IE 900 is the German-made 7mm TrueResponse Transducer, specifically crafted for in-ear listening across the entire frequency spectrum. It incorporates innovative X3R technology, which combines the transducer with a specially developed membrane foil, a unique triple-chamber absorber system, and an acoustic vortex. This advanced system is designed to eliminate masking resonances and ensure distortion-free, transparent sound reproduction at any listening volume, delivering a refined and extended treble.

Connectivity

The IE 900 comes with three para-aramid reinforced cables featuring gold-plated MMCX connectors. These connectors are designed for durability, ensuring reliability even after over 500 attachment cycles. The included cables offer versatile connectivity options: a single-ended 3.5mm connector, and balanced 2.5mm and 4.4mm connectors.

Setup

Choosing Ear Adapters

For optimal sound quality and comfort, select the ear adapters that provide the best seal in your ear canal. The IE 900 includes three sizes (S/M/L) of both silicone and memory foam ear adapters. Experiment with different sizes and materials to find your ideal fit.

Connecting Cables

Gently attach the desired cable to the IE 900 earphones using the MMCX connectors. Ensure a secure connection. The recessed design of the connectors enhances reliability.

Wearing the In-Ear Monitors

Place the earphones into your ears, guiding the cable over your ear with the adjustable ear hooks. Adjust the ear hooks to ensure a comfortable and secure fit. A proper seal is crucial for achieving the best sound quality and noise isolation.

Operating

Audio Playback

Connect the selected cable to your audio source. The IE 900 is compatible with a wide range of devices including laptops, desktops, tablets, telephones, smart speakers, televisions, and car audio systems, provided they have a compatible 3.5mm, 2.5mm, or 4.4mm audio jack.

Volume Control

Adjust the volume using the media controls on your connected audio device. The IE 900 does not feature integrated volume controls on the cable itself.

Maintenance

Proper care ensures the longevity and performance of your IE 900 In-Ear Monitors.

  • Cleaning: Use the provided cleaning tool and cloth to regularly clean the ear tips and the earphone housings. Ensure no debris accumulates in the nozzle or on the ear tips, as this can affect sound quality.
  • Storage: When not in use, store your IE 900 monitors in the provided premium carry case. This protects them from dust, scratches, and physical damage.
  • Cable Care: Handle the cables gently. While reinforced, excessive pulling or bending can cause damage.

Troubleshooting

  • No Sound:
    - Ensure the cable is securely connected to both the earphones and the audio source.
    - Check the volume level on your audio device.
    - Test with a different audio source or cable if possible.
  • Poor Sound Quality / Distortion:
    - Verify that the ear tips are correctly seated and form a good seal in your ear canal.
    - Clean the earphone nozzles and ear tips to remove any obstructions.
    - Ensure the audio source is playing high-quality audio files.
  • Inadequate Noise Isolation:
    - Experiment with different sizes and types (silicone vs. memory foam) of ear adapters to find the best fit for your ears. A proper seal is essential for effective passive noise isolation.
  • Cable Issues:
    - If a cable appears damaged or is causing intermittent audio, try using one of the other included cables to determine if the cable is the issue.
