Safety Information

WARNING: To avoid electric shock, always turn off power at the circuit breaker before installing or servicing the fixture. All wiring must be in accordance with national and local electrical codes. If you are unsure about wiring, consult a qualified electrician.

• Do not install in wet locations. Suitable for damp locations.
• Ensure the power supply voltage matches the fixture's requirements (120V).

Setup and Installation

The NUWATT Gimbal LED Recessed Light features a slim, canless design for easy installation without the need for a separate housing. Follow these steps for proper installation:

1. Turn Off Power: Before starting, ensure the power to the installation area is turned off at the circuit breaker.
2. Cut Hole: Use the provided hole size cut-out template to mark and cut a 6.25-inch diameter hole in the ceiling. Ensure there are no obstructions behind the ceiling at the chosen location.

3. Wire Junction Box: Open the metal junction box. Connect the building's electrical wires (Live, Neutral, Ground) to the corresponding wires inside the junction box using appropriate wire connectors. Ensure all connections are secure. Close the junction box cover.

4. Connect Light to Junction Box: Connect the male connector from the LED downlight to the female connector extending from the junction box. Ensure a firm connection.
5. Insert Junction Box: Place the wired junction box through the cut hole into the ceiling cavity.
6. Install Downlight: Push the spring clips on the sides of the LED downlight upwards. Carefully insert the downlight into the cut hole. The spring clips will automatically snap down and secure the fixture against the ceiling.

7. Adjust Lens Angle: Once installed, the gimbal lens can be tilted up to 30 degrees in any direction to adjust the light beam angle. This is ideal for sloped ceilings or for directing light to specific areas.

8. Restore Power: Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker.

Operating Instructions

Your NUWATT Gimbal LED Recessed Light offers adjustable color temperature and dimming capabilities.

Color Temperature Selection (5CCT)

Before final installation, or by carefully pulling down the fixture (without disconnecting wires), you can select one of five color temperatures using the switch located on the junction box:

• 2700K: Soft White (Warm, inviting light)
• 3000K: Warm White (Slightly less yellow than 2700K)
• 3500K: Neutral White (Balanced, natural light)
• 4000K: Cool White (Brighter, more energetic light)
• 5000K: Daylight (Very bright, bluish-white light)

Dimming Functionality

These lights are Triac dimmable, allowing for smooth brightness adjustment from 100% down to 10% when used with compatible Triac dimmer switches. Ensure your dimmer switch is rated for LED lighting.

Maintenance

The NUWATT Gimbal LED Recessed Light requires minimal maintenance. Follow these guidelines to ensure longevity and optimal performance:

• Cleaning: Ensure power is off before cleaning. Wipe the fixture with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or cleaners containing alcohol, as these can damage the finish or lens.
• Bulb Replacement: The LED chips are integrated and not user-replaceable. The fixture is designed for a long lifespan.
• Inspection: Periodically inspect the fixture for any signs of damage or loose connections. If any issues are found, turn off power and consult a qualified electrician.
