Setup

Battery Installation

Batteries are not included and must be purchased separately. Each robot and each remote control requires batteries for operation.

  • For each robot: 3 "AA" batteries are required.
  • For each remote control: 2 "AAA" batteries are required.
  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back or bottom of each robot and remote control.
  2. Using a small screwdriver (not included), open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert the required batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it with the screw.

Powering On and Pairing

The robots and remote controls use infrared technology for communication. Pairing should occur automatically when both devices are powered on.

  1. Ensure fresh batteries are installed in both the robot and its corresponding remote control.
  2. Turn on the power switch on both the robot and the remote control. The LED eyes on the robot should illuminate, indicating it is ready.
  3. Each remote control is designed to operate its corresponding robot (red remote for red robot, blue remote for blue robot).

Operating Instructions

The Robo Rage set offers two modes of play: 1-on-1 battle and single-player vs. AI.

Remote Control Functions

Each remote control allows you to maneuver your robot and execute punches.

  • Movement Controls: Use the directional controls to move your robot forward, backward, and turn.
  • Punch Buttons: Dedicated buttons for left and right punches.
  • Combo Punches: Experiment with pressing punch buttons in sequence to create powerful combo attacks.

Game Modes

  • 1-on-1 Battle: Challenge a friend to a duel. Each player controls one robot. The objective is to knock down your opponent's robot.
  • Single-Player vs. AI: Practice your skills against an artificial intelligence opponent. This mode helps you refine your tactics and control before facing another player.

Fighting Mechanics

The goal of the game is to knock down your opponent's robot. Robots balance on two wheels, making them susceptible to being knocked over by well-placed punches.

  • Knockout (K.O.): A robot is knocked out when it falls over. The player whose robot remains standing wins the round.
  • Power Fists: Combine punches to deliver stronger attacks and increase your chances of a knockout.

LED Indicators

The robots feature LED eyes that change color to indicate their status during battle.

  • Ready: Indicates the robot is powered on and ready for battle.
  • Knockout: Indicates a robot has been knocked down.
  • Double Knockout: Occurs if both robots are knocked down simultaneously.

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and proper functioning of your Robo Rage set, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Wipe the robots and remote controls with a clean, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the set in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Battery Care: Remove batteries from the robots and remote controls if they will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
  • Avoid Water: Keep the electronic components away from water and moisture.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Robo Rage set, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Robots not responding to remote control:
    • Ensure fresh batteries are correctly installed in both the robot and the remote control.
    • Verify that both the robot and remote control are powered on.
    • Check for any obstructions between the remote control and the robot that might block the infrared signal.
    • Ensure you are using the correct remote control for each robot (red for red, blue for blue).
  • Robot moves erratically or not at all:
    • Replace batteries in the robot.
    • Ensure the robot's wheels are clean and free of debris.
