3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

The HLF Retro Brick Game Console requires two (2) AA batteries for operation. Follow these steps to install the batteries:

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the console.
  2. Slide the battery compartment cover downwards to open it.

  1. Insert two AA batteries, ensuring the correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
  2. Replace the battery compartment cover by sliding it upwards until it clicks into place.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Button Functions

4.2 Game Selection and Adjustment

  1. Turn on the console using the ON/OFF button.
  2. Press the ROTATE button to cycle through the available games. The game number (01-23) will be displayed at the top of the screen.
  3. Before starting the game, you can adjust settings:
    • Press UP/DOWN keys to select the game pattern.
    • Press LEFT/RIGHT keys to select the game level (LEFT) and speed (RIGHT).
  4. Once your desired game and settings are selected, press the S/P button to start the game.
  5. To pause the game, press S/P again. Press S/P to resume.
  6. If you pause a game and then turn off the console using the ON/OFF button, the game progress will be saved, allowing you to resume from the last point upon the next power-on.

  • 09. Tanks War: Use UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT to control tank direction, ROTATE to launch bullets.
  • 10. Racing Game: Use LEFT/RIGHT to control vehicle direction, ROTATE to accelerate.
  • 11. Bounce Ball: Use LEFT/RIGHT to control paddle direction, ROTATE to speed up ball movement.
  • 12. Shooting Game: Use LEFT/RIGHT to control shooter direction, ROTATE to launch bullets.
  • 13. Barriers to Bounce Ball: Similar to Bounce Ball. Use LEFT/RIGHT to control paddle direction, ROTATE to speed up ball movement.
  • 14. Whac-A-Mole: Use LEFT/RIGHT to control cursor direction, ROTATE to fire bullets at moles.
  • 15. Fill the Shooting Game: Use LEFT/RIGHT to control direction, ROTATE to fire bullets to fill areas.
  • 16-23. Various Reverse Brick Games: The block output is from the bottom upwards. Align blocks to form complete lines for scoring.
