3. Setup

3.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that all parts listed in the packing list are present and undamaged. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.

3.2 Transom Mounting

  1. Ensure your boat's transom is suitable for mounting a trolling motor.
  2. Position the motor's transom mount bracket securely on the boat's transom.
  3. Tighten the mounting clamps firmly to prevent any movement during operation. Ensure the motor is vertical and the propeller is clear of any obstructions.
  4. Connect the motor's power cables to a compatible 24V deep cycle battery system. Ensure correct polarity (red to positive, black to negative).

3.3 Depth Adjustment

Adjust the motor's shaft depth using the depth collar to ensure the propeller is submerged sufficiently for optimal thrust and efficiency, typically at least 6-12 inches below the water surface.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off

To power on the motor, ensure the magnetic kill switch is properly seated on the handle. To power off, remove the magnetic kill switch or turn the speed control to the 'OFF' position.

4.2 Speed Control

The motor features stepless speed control. Rotate the handle grip forward for increasing forward speed and backward for increasing reverse speed. Adjust gradually to find your desired propulsion.

4.3 Steering

Steer the boat by rotating the motor handle left or right. The motor offers 360-degree steering control for full maneuverability.

4.4 Tilting the Motor

To tilt the motor, locate the tilt release mechanism on the bracket. Engage the mechanism and adjust the motor to one of the 7 available tilting positions. This is useful for shallow water operation, propeller clearance, or trailering.

4.5 Folding the Handle

The handle can be folded 180 degrees for compact storage. Simply release the handle lock and fold it down. The handle also extends up to 400mm for comfortable operation.

5. Maintenance

5.1 After Each Use

  • Rinse the motor, especially the lower unit and propeller, with fresh water after each use, particularly in saltwater.
  • Inspect the propeller for any fishing line, weeds, or debris. Remove any obstructions to prevent damage to the motor shaft seal.
  • Check all electrical connections for corrosion or looseness. Clean and tighten as necessary.

5.2 Periodic Checks

  • Inspect the propeller for nicks, cracks, or bends. Replace if damaged.
  • Check the mounting bracket for wear or damage.
  • Ensure the battery is fully charged before each outing.
