Operating Instructions
Powering On/Off and Speed Selection
- To turn the clipper on, locate the power switch (usually on the side or bottom of the unit) and slide it to the 'ON' position.
- The clipper features dual speeds:
- Low Speed: Approximately 3,000 strokes per minute (SPM). Suitable for general grooming and sensitive areas.
- High Speed: Approximately 4,000 SPM. Provides increased power for thicker or matted coats.
- To turn the clipper off, slide the power switch to the 'OFF' position.
Using Comb Guides
For desired hair length, attach one of the universal comb guides to the blade. Ensure the comb guide is securely fastened before use.
Maintenance
Blade Lubrication and Heat Management
Proper lubrication is crucial for optimal performance and to prevent blade overheating. Apply blade lube during and before each use. For extended grooming sessions, use a cooling spray to manage clipper heat between and in the middle of uses. Overheating can cause discomfort to the animal and reduce blade lifespan.
Cleaning
After each use, detach the blade and use the provided cleaning brush to remove any accumulated hair or debris from both the blade and the clipper head. This prevents clogging and ensures smooth operation.
Carbon Brush Replacement
The clipper includes replacement carbon brushes. Refer to the detailed instructions in the full manual for guidance on when and how to replace these components to maintain motor efficiency.
Troubleshooting
- Clipper Not Turning On: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a functional electrical outlet. Check the power switch position.
- Blades Getting Hot: This is common during extended use. Apply blade lubricant frequently and use a cooling spray. Consider having multiple blades to swap out if one becomes too hot.
- Clipper Not Cutting Effectively: Ensure the blade is clean and properly lubricated. Check if the blade is dull and needs sharpening or replacement. Verify the blade is correctly attached and seated.
- Comb Guides Not Fitting: Ensure you are using universal comb guides designed for detachable A5 style blades. If issues persist, verify compatibility with your specific blade type.
