1. Introduction

The Walrus Audio Monument V2 is a versatile tremolo pedal offering both standard and harmonic tremolo effects. It is designed to produce a rich, pulsating modulation, ranging from smooth to more pronounced waveforms. This V2 version features several enhancements over its predecessor, including a smaller enclosure, expanded functionality for the side jack, improved tremolo response across all rates, and top-mounted jacks.

2. Safety Information

5. Setup

Power Connection: Connect a 9VDC center-negative power supply (minimum 100mA) to the 9VDC power input jack on the pedal. Ensure the power supply is isolated for best performance.
Audio Input: Connect your guitar or the output of another effect pedal to the Monument V2's Input jack using a standard 1/4-inch instrument cable.
Audio Output: Connect the Monument V2's Output jack to your amplifier's input or the input of another effect pedal using a standard 1/4-inch instrument cable.
External Control (Optional): If using an external tempo switch or expression pedal, connect it to the Side Jack. Configure its function as described in the Operating Instructions.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Engaging the Effect

Press the Bypass Footswitch to toggle the tremolo effect on or off. When the effect is active, an indicator LED will illuminate.

6.2 Tremolo Modes

The Monument V2 offers two primary tremolo modes:

Standard Tremolo: A classic volume modulation effect.
Harmonic Tremolo: Inspired by vintage Fender Brownface amps, this mode modulates low-pass and high-pass versions of your signal 180 degrees out of phase, creating a warm, "chewy" tremolo sound.

The specific mode is often influenced by the Shape and Division settings, allowing for a wide range of tonal variations.

6.3 Adjusting Parameters

Rate: Turn the Rate knob clockwise to increase the tremolo speed, and counter-clockwise to decrease it.
Depth: Turn the Depth knob clockwise for a more intense, deeper tremolo, and counter-clockwise for a subtler effect.
Shape: Rotate the Shape knob to cycle through different waveforms: Sine, Square, Ramp, Lumps, and Monument Mode (random). Each shape offers a distinct rhythmic feel to the tremolo.
Division: Use the Division knob to select the rhythmic subdivision for tap tempo: Quarter, Triplet, Eighth, or Sixteenth notes.

6.4 Tap Tempo

Press the Tap/Momentary Footswitch two or more times in rhythm to set the tremolo rate. The pedal will synchronize to your tapped tempo, adjusted by the selected Division.

6.5 Momentary Functions

Bypass Switch Momentary: When the effect is off, press and hold the Bypass Footswitch to temporarily activate the tremolo. Releasing the switch will turn the effect off.
Rate Ramp (Bypass Switch): When the effect is on, press and hold the Bypass Footswitch to temporarily ramp up the tremolo rate. Releasing the switch will ramp the rate back down to its previous setting.

6.6 Side Jack Functionality

The Side Jack (TRS) can be configured for various external controls:

External Tap Tempo: Connect an external tap tempo switch to control the tremolo rate remotely.
