2. General Safety Instructions

Work Area Safety:

4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

Ensure the battery is fully charged before use. The drill driver is compatible with Elikliv 18V lithium-ion batteries and Makita 18V series batteries (BL1830, BL1840, BL1850, BL1850B, BL1860, BL1860B).

1. Align the battery with the battery port on the bottom of the drill driver.
2. Slide the battery into the port until it clicks securely into place.
3. To remove the battery, press the release button on the battery and slide it out.

4.2 Bit Installation and Removal

The drill driver features a keyless chuck for easy bit changes.

1. To open the chuck, rotate the chuck counter-clockwise (when viewed from the front). The jaws will open.
2. Insert the desired drill bit or driver bit fully into the chuck. For drill bits, ensure it is inserted as far as possible. For hex shank bits, align the flat sides of the bit with the chuck jaws.
3. To tighten the chuck, rotate it clockwise until the bit is securely held. You should hear a click sound when it's fully tightened.
4. To remove the bit, rotate the chuck counter-clockwise until the jaws open and pull the bit out.

Caution: Bits may become hot immediately after use. Handle with care to avoid burns.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Mode Selection

The drill driver offers three operating modes: Driver, Drill, and Impact Drill. To change modes, rotate the mode selection ring located behind the chuck. Always change modes when the tool is stopped.

1. Driver Mode (Screw Icon): For driving screws and fasteners. Torque can be adjusted in this mode.
2. Drill Mode (Drill Bit Icon): For drilling holes in wood, metal, and plastic. This mode provides maximum torque.
3. Impact Drill Mode (Hammer Drill Icon): For drilling into masonry, concrete, and brick. This mode also provides maximum torque.

5.2 Torque Adjustment

The torque adjustment dial allows you to set the desired tightening force for screw driving. This is available in Driver Mode.

1. Rotate the torque adjustment dial to select a setting from 1 to 21. Lower numbers provide less torque, higher numbers provide more.
2. Align the desired number with the arrow indicator on the tool body.
3. For drilling operations (Drill Mode or Impact Drill Mode), set the dial to the drill bit or hammer drill icon for maximum power.

Caution: Do not use the torque adjustment dial in positions between numbered settings or on the dot marks, as this may cause damage to the tool.

5.3 Speed Adjustment

The drill driver has two main speed settings and stepless speed control via the trigger.

1. 2-Speed Switch: Located on top of the tool. Slide it to position '1' for low speed (0-550rpm) or '2' for high speed (0-2000rpm). Always change this switch when the tool is stopped.
2. Stepless Speed Control: The speed of rotation can be precisely controlled by the amount of pressure applied to the trigger. Light pressure results in slower speed, while full pressure results in maximum speed.

5.4 Forward/Reverse Rotation and Safety Lock

The forward/reverse switch is located above the trigger.

1. Push the switch to the left (when viewed from the rear) for forward rotation (clockwise, for tightening screws).
2. Push the switch to the right for reverse rotation (counter-clockwise, for loosening screws).
3. When the switch is in the middle position, the trigger is locked, preventing accidental startup. Always engage the safety lock when not in use or when changing bits.

5.5 LED Work Light

The integrated LED light automatically illuminates when the trigger is lightly pressed, even before the chuck starts rotating. It turns off a few seconds after the trigger is released. This feature is useful for working in dimly lit areas.

• Regularly clean the ventilation openings of the tool to prevent overheating.
• Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down the tool's exterior. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

• Store the tool and battery in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
