2. Important Safety Instructions

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, including the following:

  • Read all instructions before using the oven.
  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
  • To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the cord, plug, or any part of the oven in water or other liquid.
  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  • Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
  • The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  • Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
  • Always attach the plug to the appliance first, then plug the cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to "off," then remove the plug from the wall outlet.
  • Do not use the appliance for other than intended use.
  • Oversized foods or metal utensils must not be inserted in a toaster oven as they may create a fire or risk of electric shock.
  • A fire may occur if the oven is covered or touching flammable material, including curtains, draperies, walls, and the like, when in operation.
  • Do not place any materials other than manufacturer's recommended accessories in the oven.
  • Do not place any of the following materials in the oven: paper, cardboard, plastic, or similar materials.
  • Do not cover crumb tray or any part of the oven with metal foil. This will cause overheating of the oven.
  • Extreme caution should be exercised when removing tray or disposing of hot grease.
  • Do not clean with metal scouring pads. Pieces can break off the pad and touch electrical parts, creating a risk of electric shock.

4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the oven and all accessories from the packaging. Remove any protective films, stickers, or packaging materials from the oven's interior and exterior. Keep packaging materials out of reach of children.

4.2 Placement

  • Place the oven on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface.
  • Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the oven. Maintain a minimum clearance of 10 cm (4 inches) on all sides and above the oven to allow for proper heat dissipation.
  • Do not place the oven near flammable materials such as curtains, tablecloths, or walls.
  • Do not place the oven directly under a wall cabinet.
  • Ensure the power cord is not trapped or touching hot surfaces.

4.3 Initial Cleaning

Before first use, wipe the interior and exterior of the oven with a damp cloth. Wash all accessories (baking tray, wire rack, crumb tray, rotisserie fork, handles) in warm, soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and dry completely.

4.4 First Use (Burn-Off)

It is recommended to perform a 'burn-off' cycle before cooking food for the first time. This helps to eliminate any manufacturing odors or residues.

  1. Ensure the oven is empty and all accessories are clean.
  2. Plug the oven into a grounded electrical outlet.
  3. Set the temperature knob to 230°C.
  4. Set the function knob to the 'Top & Bottom Heating' mode.
  5. Set the timer knob to 15-20 minutes.
  6. Allow the oven to operate for the set time. A slight odor or smoke may be present; this is normal.
  7. Once the cycle is complete, turn the timer to 'OFF' and unplug the oven. Allow it to cool completely before opening the door.

5. Operating Instructions

The Mistral MO1530 Electric Oven features three control knobs for easy operation:

  • Temperature Knob: Controls the cooking temperature from 90°C to 230°C.
  • Function Knob: Selects the desired heating mode.
  • Timer Knob: Sets the cooking time up to 60 minutes or selects the 'Stay On' function.

5.1 Setting the Temperature

Turn the top knob (labeled 'Temp') clockwise to select the desired cooking temperature. The available range is 90°C to 230°C.

5.2 Selecting a Function (Heating Mode)

Turn the middle knob (labeled 'Function') to choose one of the six available heating modes:

  • Bottom Heating: Heat comes only from the bottom elements. Ideal for baking pies, pizzas, or crisping the bottom of dishes.
  • Top Heating: Heat comes only from the top elements. Suitable for browning, grilling, or toasting.
  • Top & Bottom Heating: Heat comes from both top and bottom elements. Standard mode for most baking and roasting.
  • Top + Fan (Convection): Heat from the top elements with the convection fan operating. Provides even heat distribution, ideal for roasting and baking multiple items.
  • Rotisserie: Activates the rotisserie function for even roasting of poultry or meat.
  • Convection: Heat from both top and bottom elements with the convection fan operating. Ensures faster and more even cooking.

5.3 Setting the Timer

Turn the bottom knob (labeled 'Time') to set the cooking duration. The timer can be set from 0 to 60 minutes. The oven will automatically turn off when the timer reaches zero, and a bell will sound.

For continuous operation, turn the timer knob counter-clockwise past the 'OFF' position to the 'Stay On' setting. In this mode, the oven will remain on until you manually turn the timer knob back to 'OFF'.

5.4 Using the Rotisserie Function

  1. Assemble the rotisserie fork by securing the meat or poultry onto the spit rod using the prongs. Ensure the food is centered and balanced.
  2. Insert the pointed end of the rotisserie spit into the drive socket on the right side of the oven interior.
  3. Rest the notched end of the spit onto the support on the left side of the oven interior.
  4. Select the 'Rotisserie' function using the function knob.
  5. Set the desired temperature and cooking time.
  6. Use the rotisserie handle to safely remove the hot spit after cooking.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your oven.

6.1 General Cleaning

  • Always unplug the oven from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Do not immerse the oven unit, cord, or plug in water or any other liquid.
  • Use a damp cloth with mild detergent to wipe the exterior surfaces. Do not use abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads, as they can scratch the finish.

6.2 Cleaning the Interior

  • Remove the wire rack, baking tray, crumb tray, and rotisserie fork. Wash them in warm, soapy water, rinse, and dry thoroughly.
  • For the oven interior, wipe with a damp cloth and mild detergent. For stubborn stains, a non-abrasive oven cleaner designed for conventional ovens can be used, following the product's instructions. Ensure all cleaner residue is removed before next use.
  • Clean the crumb tray regularly to prevent grease buildup and potential fire hazards.

6.3 Storage

When not in use, ensure the oven is clean, dry, and unplugged. Store it in a cool, dry place.

7. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Oven does not turn on. Not plugged in; power outlet not working; timer not set. Ensure the oven is properly plugged into a working outlet. Set the timer knob to a desired time or 'Stay On'.
Oven not heating properly. Incorrect temperature or function setting; door not closed properly. Verify temperature and function settings. Ensure the oven door is fully closed.
Smoke or odor during first use. Manufacturing residues burning off. This is normal during the initial 'burn-off' cycle. Ensure good ventilation. If it persists after initial use, contact support.
Food not cooking evenly. Incorrect rack position; overcrowding; uneven food placement. Adjust rack position. Avoid overcrowding the oven. Rotate food halfway through cooking if necessary. Consider using convection mode.

If the problem persists after attempting these solutions, please contact customer support.
