3. Setup
3.1 Pre-Installation Checklist
Before beginning your build, ensure you have the following components and tools:
- Compatible Micro-ATX or Mini-ITX Motherboard
- Power Supply Unit (PSU)
- CPU, CPU Cooler, RAM
- Graphics Card (GPU)
- Storage Drives (SSD/HDD)
- Screwdriver set
- Anti-static wrist strap (recommended)
3.2 Component Installation
Follow these steps to install your PC components into the Montech AIR 100 ARGB case:
- Prepare the Case: Carefully open the side swivel tempered glass panel. You may also remove the rear side panel for easier cable management access.
- Install Motherboard: Align your Micro-ATX or Mini-ITX motherboard with the standoffs inside the case. Secure it with the provided screws.
- Install Power Supply Unit (PSU): Mount your PSU in the dedicated bottom compartment. Ensure the fan faces the bottom ventilation.
- Install Storage Drives: Utilize the drive bays for 2.5" SSDs and 3.5" HDDs. The case offers flexible mounting options.
- Install Graphics Card (GPU) and Expansion Cards: Insert your GPU into the appropriate PCIe slot on your motherboard and secure it with the thumbscrews on the rear expansion slots.
- Connect Front I/O Cables: Connect the USB 2.0, USB 3.0, audio, power, and reset cables from the case's front I/O panel to their respective headers on your motherboard.
- Connect ARGB Fan Cables: The four pre-installed ARGB fans are connected to an included controller. Connect the controller to your PSU via SATA power. For motherboard ARGB sync, connect the controller's ARGB cable to your motherboard's 3-pin 5V ARGB header.
- Cable Management: Utilize the pre-installed loops and Velcro straps behind the motherboard tray to route and secure cables for a clean and organized build. This improves airflow and aesthetics.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Powering On
Once all components are installed and connected, close both side panels. Press the power button located on the top I/O panel of the case to power on your system.
4.2 ARGB Fan Control
The pre-installed ARGB fans offer customizable lighting effects:
- Case LED Button: Use the dedicated LED button on the top I/O panel to cycle through various pre-set lighting modes and colors.
- Motherboard Software Sync: If the ARGB controller is connected to your motherboard's 3-pin 5V ARGB header, you can synchronize the fan lighting with your motherboard's RGB software (e.g., ASUS Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light, Gigabyte RGB Fusion, ASRock Polychrome Sync). Refer to your motherboard manual for specific software instructions.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
Regular cleaning helps maintain optimal airflow and extends the lifespan of your components:
- Front Mesh Panel: The Super Fine Mesh Face Plate is designed for easy removal. Gently pull it off for tool-free cleaning. Use compressed air or a soft brush to remove dust buildup.
- Dust Filters: The case includes convenient dust filters (e.g., on top and bottom). Periodically remove and clean these filters to prevent dust from entering the system.
- Interior: Use compressed air to clear dust from internal components like fans, heatsinks, and the motherboard. Ensure the system is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.
5.2 General Care
- Avoid placing the case in direct sunlight or near heat sources.
- Ensure adequate ventilation around the case.
- Do not obstruct the airflow paths (front, top, rear, bottom).
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Montech AIR 100 ARGB case, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| System does not power on. | Power button not connected correctly; PSU not receiving power; PSU switch off. | Check front panel power button connection to motherboard. Ensure PSU is plugged in and switched on. Verify all power cables are securely connected. |
| Fans are not spinning. | Fan cables not connected; ARGB controller not powered. | Ensure fan cables are properly connected to the ARGB controller. Verify the ARGB controller is receiving SATA power from the PSU. |
| ARGB lighting not working or incorrect. | ARGB controller not connected to motherboard (for software control); incorrect ARGB header used; faulty connection. | Ensure the ARGB controller is connected to a 3-pin 5V ARGB header on your motherboard, not a 4-pin 12V RGB header. Check all ARGB cable connections. Try using the case's LED button to confirm basic functionality. |
| Poor airflow or high temperatures. | Dust buildup; obstructed vents; incorrect fan orientation. | Clean dust filters and mesh panels regularly. Ensure no objects are blocking the case vents. Verify fans are oriented correctly for intake and exhaust. |
If the issue persists, please refer to the Warranty and Support section for further assistance.
