2. Safety Information

  • Electrical Safety: Ensure the power supply matches the voltage requirements of the fixture. Always connect to a grounded circuit. Disconnect power before servicing or cleaning.
  • Temperature: Maintain adequate ventilation around the fixture. Do not operate in excessively hot environments. The maximum external surface temperature is 120°C.
  • Placement: Install the fixture in a well-ventilated area, at least 0.2 meters away from flammable materials. Ensure secure mounting using appropriate hardware.
  • Eye Protection: Avoid direct eye exposure to the light beam, as it can cause eye damage.
  • Qualified Personnel: Installation and servicing should only be performed by qualified technicians.

5. Setup

5.1 Mounting

The fixture can be mounted in various orientations (floor, truss, wall) using the provided mounting brackets. Ensure the mounting surface or truss system can support the weight of the fixture (approximately 37.7 pounds) and any additional equipment.

  1. Attach the mounting brackets securely to the fixture using appropriate screws.
  2. Secure the fixture to the desired mounting point (truss, ceiling, etc.) using clamps or other suitable hardware. Always use a safety cable as a secondary attachment.

5.2 Electrical Connection

Connect the power cable to the POWER INPUT on the rear of the fixture and then to a suitable power outlet (240V). Ensure the power switch is in the OFF position before connecting.

5.3 DMX Connection (Optional)

For DMX control, connect a DMX cable from your DMX controller's output to the DMX IN port of the first fixture. For multiple fixtures, daisy-chain them by connecting the DMX OUT of the first fixture to the DMX IN of the next, and so on.

6. Operating Controls

The fixture is controlled via an LCD display and a rotary encoder with push-button functionality. The display allows access to various settings and operating modes.

LCD Display Navigation:

  • Rotary Encoder: Rotate to scroll through menu options or adjust values.
  • Push Button (SELECT/ENTER): Press to select an option or confirm a setting.
  • Menu Structure: The main menu typically includes options for DMX address, operating mode, settings, and system information.

7. Operating Modes

The Topteng 230W Moving Head Stage Light supports several operating modes:

  • DMX Mode (16 Channel): Allows full control over all fixture functions (pan, tilt, color, gobo, prism, zoom, strobe, dimmer) via an external DMX controller. Set the DMX address using the LCD display.
  • Sound Activation Mode: The fixture reacts to ambient sound, creating dynamic light shows synchronized with music.
  • Auto Mode: Pre-programmed light shows run automatically. Various auto programs may be selected via the menu.
  • Master-Slave Mode: Connect multiple fixtures via DMX cables. Set one fixture as 'Master' and others as 'Slave' to synchronize their operation without a DMX controller.

8. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your fixture.

  • Cleaning: Periodically clean the lenses and exterior with a soft, lint-free cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the fixture is powered off and cooled before cleaning.
  • Inspection: Regularly check all cables, connections, and mounting hardware for signs of wear or damage. Replace any damaged components immediately.
  • Ventilation: Keep ventilation openings clear of dust and debris to prevent overheating.

9. Troubleshooting
