5. Setup and Installation
5.1 Pre-Installation Checklist
- Ensure the power supply to the installation area is turned OFF at the circuit breaker.
- Verify that the chosen mounting location is stable and can support the sensor.
- Confirm that the sensor's detection area will cover the desired space without obstruction.
5.2 Mounting the Sensor
- Carefully remove the back cover of the sensor to expose the mounting holes.
- Position the sensor on the wall at the desired height (typically 1.8m to 2.5m for optimal detection).
- Mark the locations for drilling using the mounting holes as a guide.
- Drill pilot holes and insert wall anchors if necessary.
- Secure the sensor's back cover to the wall using appropriate screws.

5.3 Wiring Instructions
WARNING: Ensure power is OFF at the circuit breaker before wiring.
- Locate the wiring terminals inside the sensor. You will typically find terminals for Live (L), Neutral (N), and Load (L').
- Connect the incoming Live wire (usually black or brown) from your power supply to the 'L' terminal.
- Connect the incoming Neutral wire (usually white or blue) from your power supply to the 'N' terminal.
- Connect the Live wire leading to your light fixture or other load to the 'L'' terminal.
- Ensure all connections are tight and secure.
- Carefully replace the sensor's front cover, ensuring no wires are pinched.

6. Operating Instructions
Once installed and wired, restore power to the circuit. The sensor will enter a warm-up period (approximately 30-60 seconds) during which the connected light may turn on and off. After the warm-up, the sensor will begin operating according to its settings.
The sensor detects motion using passive infrared (PIR) technology. When a heat signature (such as a person or large animal) moves within its detection range, the sensor activates the connected load (e.g., turns on a light) for the set duration. If motion continues, the timer resets, keeping the light on. The sensor also incorporates an ambient light sensor (LUX) to determine if it should operate during daylight or only at night.
7. Adjusting Sensor Settings
The Mageway HW106 features three adjustable knobs located on the bottom of the sensor for customizing its operation:

- SENS (Sensitivity):
Controls the detection range of the sensor. Turn the knob towards '+' for maximum sensitivity (up to 36 feet / 12 meters) or towards '-' for reduced sensitivity (down to 6 feet / 2 meters). Adjust this to prevent unwanted activations from distant objects or small animals.
- TIME (Delay Time):
Determines how long the connected light remains ON after motion is detected and then stops. Turn towards '+' for a longer duration (up to 7 minutes) or towards '-' for a shorter duration (down to 10 seconds).
- LUX (Ambient Light):
Sets the ambient light level at which the sensor will operate.
- Turn towards the sun icon (☀️) for operation during both day and night (high LUX sensitivity).
- Turn towards the moon icon (🌙) for operation only during darkness (low LUX sensitivity).
8. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Periodically wipe the sensor lens with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust or dirt that may obstruct detection. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Inspection: Regularly check the sensor for any signs of damage, loose wiring, or wear.
- Environmental Factors: Ensure that no new obstructions (e.g., growing foliage, stored items) are blocking the sensor's field of view.
9. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Light does not turn on when motion is detected. |
|
|
| Light stays on continuously. |
|
|
| Light turns on during the day. |
|
