Setup
1. Initial Inspection
Upon unboxing, carefully inspect the guitar for any signs of damage that may have occurred during shipping. Check the finish, hardware, and neck for any visible issues. Ensure all components are securely fastened.

2. Tuning
The guitar is equipped with locking tuners for enhanced tuning stability. To tune, insert the string through the tuner post, pull it taut, and then tighten the locking screw on the back of the tuner. Wind the string a maximum of 1-2 times around the post before tuning to pitch. Use a reliable electronic tuner for accuracy. Standard tuning is E-A-D-G-B-e.
3. Connecting to an Amplifier
Connect one end of a standard 1/4-inch instrument cable to the output jack located on the side of the guitar body. Connect the other end of the cable to the input of your amplifier. Ensure your amplifier's volume is set to a low level before powering it on to prevent sudden loud noises.
Operating the Guitar
1. Controls Overview

Image 2: Close-up view of the guitar's body, highlighting the control knobs and pickup selector switch. This image shows the two humbucker pickups and the three control knobs.
- Volume Knobs: Two independent volume controls, one for the neck pickup and one for the bridge pickup.
- Tone Knob: One master tone control for both pickups. This knob also features a push-pull function.
- Pickup Selector Switch: A 3-way toggle switch to select between the neck pickup, bridge pickup, or both.
- Up Position: Neck Pickup
- Middle Position: Both Neck and Bridge Pickups
- Down Position: Bridge Pickup
2. Fishman Fluence Pickup Voicings
The Fishman Fluence Open Core Classic Humbucker pickups offer multiple voicings for sonic versatility:
- Voice 1 (Modern Active): Pull the Tone Knob to activate. This voice provides a tight, articulate, and high-output sound, ideal for modern rock and metal.
- Voice 2 (Passive Attack): Push the Tone Knob in. This is the standard passive-like voice, offering a dynamic and organic tone with excellent clarity.
- Voice 3 (Single Coil): Pull the Neck Volume Knob to activate. This voice provides a clear, bright single-coil sound, suitable for clean tones or blues.
Experiment with these voicings and the pickup selector to find your desired sound.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning
- Body and Neck: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe down the body and neck after each use to remove sweat and fingerprints. For a deeper clean, use a guitar-specific polish or cleaner sparingly.
- Fretboard: The Macassar Ebony fretboard should be conditioned periodically (every 3-6 months, depending on climate and use) with a fretboard conditioner to prevent drying and cracking.
- Hardware: Wipe down bridge, tuners, and other metal parts to prevent corrosion.
2. String Replacement
Strings should be replaced regularly, typically every 1-3 months depending on playing frequency and sweat acidity. Old strings can negatively impact tone and tuning stability. When replacing strings, change them one at a time to maintain neck tension. Refer to the "Tuning" section for proper use of the locking tuners.
3. General Care
- Store the guitar in a stable environment, avoiding extreme temperature and humidity fluctuations.
- When not in use, store the guitar in a case or on a stand to protect it from accidental damage.
- Avoid exposing the guitar to direct sunlight for extended periods.
