4. Operating
The Orbi Pro WiFi 6 Mini Router offers advanced features for optimized network performance and security:
- AX1800 Dual-Band WiFi 6: Provides high-speed wireless connectivity with up to 1.8Gbps total data throughput.
- Network Segmentation (VLAN): Supports up to 4 SSIDs for creating separate, secure networks for different user groups (e.g., staff, guests, IoT devices). This allows for enhanced security by isolating traffic between networks.
- Quality of Service (QoS): Prioritize network traffic for critical applications, ensuring smooth performance for video conferencing, VoIP, and other bandwidth-sensitive tasks.
- Wired Connectivity: Features 3 Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports for high-speed wired connections to devices like computers, servers, or network-attached storage (NAS).
- NETGEAR Armor Security: Includes a 1-year subscription to NETGEAR Armor, providing automatic security against online threats for all connected devices and enhanced privacy with VPN.
- Patented Antenna Design: Optimizes WiFi coverage and delivers high-performance WiFi across your entire home or office space.

5. Maintenance
To ensure optimal performance and security of your Orbi Pro WiFi 6 Mini Router, regular maintenance is recommended:
- Firmware Updates: Periodically check for and install firmware updates from the NETGEAR website or through the Orbi app. Firmware updates often include security patches, bug fixes, and performance enhancements. It is advisable to wait a few weeks after a new release to ensure stability.
- Configuration Backups: Regularly back up your router's configuration settings, especially before applying firmware updates or making significant changes. This allows for quick restoration in case of unexpected issues.
- Physical Placement: Ensure the router is placed in an open area, away from obstructions and other electronic devices that may cause interference.
6. Troubleshooting
Here are some common issues and their potential solutions:
- Cannot Access Admin Interface After Firmware Update: If the admin password stops working after a firmware update, try changing the password through the NETGEAR Insight app (if used). The device UI can typically only be accessed via the default VLAN network (VLAN 1). Ensure your device is connected to a WiFi network using the default VLAN profile.
- Client Isolation Not Fully Isolating Devices: While 'Client Isolation' prevents devices from 'reaching' each other, they may still be visible on the network. For true Layer 2 isolation, additional network configuration might be required.
- Slow Application of Settings: Applying configuration changes may temporarily take networks offline and can be slow. This is generally normal during initial setup or significant changes.
- Wireless Devices Showing as Wired: This is a known bug that may occur periodically. It is generally harmless and may be resolved with future firmware updates.
- Weak WiFi Signal in Certain Areas: Consider adding an Orbi Pro satellite (sold separately) to extend coverage. Ensure optimal placement of existing units.
