Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the record player and all accessories from the packaging. Retain the packaging for future transport or storage.
- Placement: Place the unit on a stable, level surface away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive dust or vibrations. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
- Dust Cover: Attach the transparent dust cover to the hinges at the back of the unit.
- Stylus Protection: Remove the stylus protector from the cartridge. Be careful not to touch the stylus tip.
- Counterweight Adjustment:
- Gently push and twist the counterweight onto the rear of the tonearm.
- Balance the tonearm by adjusting the counterweight until the tonearm floats horizontally.
- Once balanced, hold the counterweight still and rotate the tracking force ring until the "0" aligns with the line on the tonearm.
- Rotate the counterweight (and ring) to the recommended tracking force (refer to cartridge specifications, typically 2-3 grams for ceramic cartridges).
- Power Connection: Connect the power adapter to the DC IN port on the back of the record player, then plug the adapter into a wall outlet.
- External Audio (Optional): If connecting to an external amplifier or powered speakers, use RCA cables to connect the RCA Line Out ports on the record player to the corresponding input on your audio system.

Operating Instructions
Playing a Vinyl Record
- Turn the Power/Volume knob clockwise to turn on the unit.
- Set the Function Selector to "PHONO".
- Place a record on the platter. If playing a 7-inch single, place the 45 RPM adapter on the spindle first.
- Select the appropriate speed (33 1/3, 45, or 78 RPM) using the Speed Selector switch.
- Lift the tonearm using the Tonearm Lift Lever.
- Gently move the tonearm over the desired starting groove of the record.
- Slowly lower the Tonearm Lift Lever to allow the stylus to descend onto the record. The music will begin to play.
- Adjust the volume using the Power/Volume knob.
- At the end of the record, the auto-stop function will typically stop the platter rotation. Lift the tonearm and return it to its rest.
Bluetooth Receiver Mode (Streaming to RP162)
This mode allows you to stream audio from your smartphone or other Bluetooth-enabled device to the RP162's built-in speakers.
- Turn on the RP162 and set the Function Selector to "BT" (Bluetooth). The unit will enter pairing mode, indicated by a flashing indicator light.
- On your Bluetooth device, enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
- Select "Fenton RP162" (or similar name) from the list of devices.
- Once paired, the indicator light will become solid. You can now play music from your device through the RP162.
Bluetooth Transmitter Mode (Streaming from RP162)
This mode allows you to stream audio from a playing record on the RP162 to external Bluetooth headphones or speakers.
- Ensure your Bluetooth headphones or speakers are in pairing mode.
- Play a record on the RP162 as described above.
- The RP162 will automatically search for and connect to nearby Bluetooth audio devices in pairing mode.
- Once connected, the audio from the record will be transmitted to your external Bluetooth device.
USB Recording (Vinyl to MP3)
The RP162 allows you to convert your vinyl records into digital MP3 files on your computer.
- Connect the RP162 to your computer using the supplied USB cable.
- Install and open audio recording software on your computer (e.g., Audacity, often included on a CD or available for download).
- Configure the software to recognize the RP162 as the audio input device.
- Start recording in the software, then begin playing your vinyl record on the RP162.
- Once the record finishes, stop the recording in the software and save the audio file in your desired format (e.g., MP3).
Headphone Connection
For private listening, plug your 3.5mm headphones into the headphone jack on the front of the unit. The built-in speakers will automatically mute.
Maintenance
- Cleaning the Stylus: Use a soft brush, specifically designed for stylus cleaning, to gently brush the stylus from back to front. Do not use excessive force or brush from side to side.
- Cleaning the Unit: Wipe the record player with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn marks, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
