Safety Instructions

  • Qualified Personnel: Installation of appliances not ready for connection must be carried out by a registered specialist company or the respective network operator. They will also assist in obtaining necessary authorizations.
  • Electrical Connection: Do not connect the product to the electrical grid until the water heater is completely filled with water and all tap connections are correctly secured.
  • Water Temperature: The water heater can heat water from 40 °C to 85 °C. Be aware of potential scalding risks at higher temperatures. The unit includes anti-scald protection.

Unpacking and Components

Carefully unpack the water heater and check for any damage. Ensure all components listed below are present.

Mounting the Unit

The eloSTOR VEH 80/8 is designed for wall-mounted installation. Use the provided mounting template and wall rail to securely fix the unit to a suitable wall. Refer to the technical drawing for precise dimensions and connection points.

Ensure adequate space around the unit for maintenance and ventilation. The unit dimensions are 45 cm (depth) x 50.4 cm (width) x 91.6 cm (height).

Water Connections

Connect the cold water inlet (R 1/2) and hot water outlet (R 1/2) using the provided connection pipes. Ensure all connections are watertight. The integrated ball valve facilitates quick draining.

Electrical Connection

The electrical connection must be performed by a qualified electrician. The unit supports heating power from 2 kW to 6 kW, adjustable by repositioning internal bridges. The operating voltage is 400 Volts.

Important: Only connect the water heater to the electrical supply after it has been completely filled with water and all water connections are secure.

Operating Instructions

Initial Start-up

  1. Ensure the water heater is completely filled with water by opening a hot water tap until water flows freely and air is purged from the system.
  2. Switch on the electrical supply to the unit.
  3. Set the desired water temperature using the continuous temperature regulator.

Temperature Control and SmartControl

The eloSTOR VEH 80/8 allows for continuous temperature adjustment between 40 °C and 85 °C. An energy-saving position is available at 60 °C.

The integrated SmartControl function learns your usage habits and heats water just before it's needed, minimizing standby energy loss and reducing overall energy consumption. This feature can save over 7% of energy requirements.

For immediate hot water, a quick heating button is available to rapidly heat the water to the set temperature.

Operating Modes

The unit supports single-circuit, dual-circuit, or boiler operation. The universal heating flange allows for flexible configuration.

Maintenance

  • Anode Inspection: The potable water side features high-quality enamel and a magnesium protective anode to prevent corrosion. This anode should be inspected and replaced periodically by a specialist.
  • Draining: The integrated ball valve allows for quick draining of the unit if necessary for maintenance or prolonged periods of non-use (e.g., during winter in unheated holiday homes, though frost protection is present).
  • Cleaning: Clean the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
