1. Introduction
This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Alphacool Eisblock Aurora Acryl GPX-N RTX 3090/3080 Ti HOF water block. This high-performance water block is designed to provide superior cooling for NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 and RTX 3080 Ti HOF series graphics cards, enhancing stability and performance through efficient liquid cooling. Please read this manual thoroughly before proceeding with installation.
2. Safety Information
Warning: Improper installation or handling of liquid cooling components can lead to system damage, including leaks and electrical shorts. Always exercise caution and follow instructions carefully.
- Ensure your computer system is completely powered off and unplugged from the wall outlet before beginning installation.
- Discharge any static electricity from your body by touching a grounded metal object before handling components.
- Use only distilled water or approved liquid cooling fluids. Do not use tap water.
- Perform a leak test for at least 24 hours before powering on your system.
- Keep all components out of reach of children.
- If you are unsure about any step, consult a qualified technician.
3. Package Contents
Please verify that all items are present in your package. If any items are missing or damaged, contact your retailer or Alphacool support immediately.

- Installation Guide (this document)
4. Setup and Installation
This section outlines the general steps for installing the water block onto your graphics card. Specific steps for disassembling your graphics card may vary by model; refer to your graphics card manufacturer's documentation for detailed disassembly instructions.
4.1 Preparing the Graphics Card
- Carefully remove the stock cooler from your graphics card. This typically involves unscrewing the mounting screws from the GPU die and removing screws securing the shroud and backplate.
- Thoroughly clean the GPU die and all memory modules (VRAM) and voltage regulator modules (VRM) of any residual thermal paste or thermal pad material using isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.
4.2 Applying Thermal Materials
- Apply a small amount of thermal paste to the center of the GPU die. Spread it evenly to a thin layer using a spatula or by allowing the pressure from the water block to spread it.
- Cut the provided thermal pads to the correct sizes as indicated in the included diagram (if applicable) or as per the Alphacool installation guide for your specific GPU model.
- Carefully place the thermal pads onto the VRAM and VRM components. Ensure good contact and coverage. The Alphacool Eisblock design utilizes 1mm thick thermal pads for optimal component contact and cooling performance.
4.3 Mounting the Water Block
- Align the Alphacool Eisblock Aurora water block with the mounting holes on your graphics card.
- Gently lower the water block onto the graphics card, ensuring the GPU die makes contact with the copper base and thermal pads are correctly seated.
- Secure the water block using the provided mounting screws. Tighten screws in a diagonal pattern to ensure even pressure, but do not overtighten.
- Connect the digital RGB cable from the water block to a compatible 3-pin 5V addressable RGB header on your motherboard or a dedicated RGB controller.

4.4 Integrating into the Cooling Loop
- Install appropriate G1/4" fittings (not included) into the inlet and outlet ports of the water block.
- Connect the water block to your existing or new custom liquid cooling loop using tubing. Ensure all connections are secure and leak-free.
- Fill your cooling loop with coolant and perform a leak test. It is highly recommended to use an air pressure leak tester before introducing liquid. Once filled, run the pump for at least 24 hours with the system powered off (using a PSU jumper) to check for any leaks. Place paper towels under all connections to easily spot drips.
5. Operating Instructions
Once the water block is successfully installed and the liquid cooling loop has passed a leak test, you can power on your system.
- Initial Startup: Monitor coolant levels and temperatures closely during the first few hours of operation.
- RGB Control: The integrated digital RGB lighting can be controlled via your motherboard's RGB software (e.g., ASUS Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light, Gigabyte RGB Fusion) or a dedicated Alphacool RGB controller. Ensure the 3-pin 5V ARGB header is correctly connected.
- Temperature Monitoring: Use monitoring software to keep track of your GPU temperatures to ensure optimal cooling performance.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your liquid cooling system.
- Coolant Replacement: It is recommended to replace the coolant every 6-12 months, depending on the coolant type and system usage.
- System Flush: When replacing coolant, consider flushing the entire loop with distilled water or a dedicated cleaning solution to remove any buildup.
- Block Inspection: Periodically inspect the water block for any signs of corrosion, algae growth, or blockages. If necessary, disassemble and clean the block using appropriate cleaning agents for acrylic and copper.
- Fittings Check: Ensure all fittings remain tight and leak-free.
7. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter.
- Poor Cooling Performance:
- Ensure proper thermal paste application and thermal pad contact.
- Check for air bubbles trapped in the water block. Tilt the system gently to dislodge them.
- Verify pump is operating correctly and coolant flow is adequate.
- Inspect radiators for dust buildup and clean if necessary.
- Leaks:
- Immediately power off the system.
- Identify the source of the leak. Tighten fittings or replace O-rings/tubing as needed.
- Perform another leak test before powering on.
- RGB Lighting Not Working:
- Check the connection of the 3-pin 5V ARGB cable to the motherboard or controller.
- Ensure the RGB header is enabled in your motherboard's BIOS/UEFI.
- Verify that the correct RGB software is installed and configured.
