6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No power / Device won't turn on | Battery is depleted or incorrectly installed. | Ensure the battery is fully charged and correctly inserted. If using AA batteries, check their charge level and orientation. |
| Cannot communicate with other radios | Different channels or CTCSS/DCS codes. Out of range. | Verify that all radios are set to the same channel and CTCSS/DCS code. Move closer to the other radio. Use the one-key pairing function. |
| Poor audio quality / Static | Weak signal, interference, or low battery. | Move to an open area. Check battery level. Ensure no obstructions are blocking the signal. |
| Bluetooth headset not pairing or poor audio | Headset not in pairing mode, out of range, or compatibility issue. | Ensure the headset is in pairing mode and within 10 meters. Re-attempt pairing. For best results, use the provided Retevis Bluetooth headset. |
| Short battery life | Frequent use, high power transmission, or aging battery. | Ensure the battery is fully charged before use. Consider using power-saving features if available. Battery performance may degrade over time. |
| Difficulty setting CTCSS/DCS frequencies | Device displays numbers instead of Hz frequencies. | The device uses numerical codes for CTCSS/DCS. Refer to the programming software or a conversion chart if specific Hz frequencies are required for compatibility with other radios. |
