1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and efficient operation of your Retevis RA619 Bluetooth Walkie Talkie. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the device to ensure proper functionality and to prevent damage.

The Retevis RA619 is a versatile two-way radio featuring integrated Bluetooth connectivity, a 1400mAh rechargeable battery, vibration alert, one-key pairing, and an SOS emergency function. It is designed for various activities including cycling, hunting, and general outdoor communication.

2. Package Contents

Upon opening the package, please verify that all items are present and in good condition:

3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation and Charging

The RA619 uses a 1400mAh Lithium-ion rechargeable battery. It can also operate with 3 AA batteries (not included) as an alternative power source.

  1. Install Battery: Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the walkie talkie. Insert the 1400mAh Lithium-ion battery, ensuring the contacts align. Close the cover securely.
  2. Charging:
    • Using Charging Base: Place the walkie talkie into the charging base. Connect the micro USB cable to the charging base and then to a power source (e.g., USB wall adapter, computer USB port).
    • Direct Micro USB Charging: Alternatively, you can connect the micro USB cable directly to the charging port on the side of the walkie talkie and then to a power source.
  3. Charging Indicator: The charging indicator light will show the charging status. Refer to the device's display for battery level.

3.2 Bluetooth Headset Pairing

The RA619 features an integrated Bluetooth module for hands-free communication with the included Bluetooth headset. The wireless connection range is approximately 10 meters.

  1. Power On Headset: Turn on the Bluetooth headset (refer to the headset's specific instructions if needed).
  2. Activate Bluetooth on Walkie Talkie: Access the menu on the RA619 and navigate to the Bluetooth settings. Enable Bluetooth.
  3. Pairing: The walkie talkie will search for available Bluetooth devices. Select the headset from the list to pair. A confirmation message or indicator light will show successful pairing.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off

To power on or off the walkie talkie, press and hold the power button located on the side of the device until the screen illuminates or turns off.

4.2 Channel Selection

The RA619 supports 16 channels. Use the Up and Down arrow buttons to select your desired channel. Ensure all parties are on the same channel for communication.

4.3 One-Key Pairing

The one-key pairing feature allows for quick synchronization of channel and sub-code settings with another RA619 unit.

  1. Place both walkie talkies in close proximity.
  2. Activate the one-key pairing function on both devices (refer to the menu for this option).
  3. The devices will automatically copy the channel and CTCSS/DCS sub-code settings, establishing communication within seconds.

4.4 Transmitting and Receiving

4.5 VOX Function (Voice Operated Exchange)

The VOX function allows for hands-free transmission without pressing the PTT button. When using a headset, you can activate VOX through the walkie talkie's menu. This enables communication as if using a mobile phone, ideal for activities like cycling.

4.6 Vibration Alert

The vibration function provides discreet alerts for incoming transmissions, useful in noisy environments or when silence is preferred. This feature ensures you receive information without audible disturbance.

4.7 CTCSS/DCS Codes

CTCSS (Continuous Tone-Coded Squelch System) and DCS (Digitally Coded Squelch) codes help filter out unwanted conversations on a channel. By setting a specific sub-code, you will only hear transmissions from users who have the same code set. The RA619 supports 50 CTCSS and 105 DCS codes.

4.8 SOS Emergency Function

In an emergency, press the dedicated SOS button. The walkie talkie will emit an audible alarm and send a distress signal to your communication partner(s) simultaneously, indicating your need for assistance.

4.9 LED Flashlight

The integrated LED flashlight can be activated to illuminate dark environments or to increase your visibility. It can also be used to signal your location in emergency situations.
