Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your Wildgame Innovations Mirage 22MP Trail Camera, Model WGI-WGICM0708. This camera features a 22-megapixel sensor, 720p HD video recording, and enhanced nighttime image capture. It includes Exposure Control for optimizing image clarity and distance, a trigger speed of less than 0.5 seconds, and Silent Shield™ technology for quiet operation. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the camera to ensure proper function and longevity of the device.

Setup

1. Battery Installation

The Mirage 22MP camera requires 8 AA batteries (not included). For optimal performance, use high-quality alkaline or lithium batteries.

1. Open the camera housing latch located on the side of the unit.
2. Locate the battery compartment.
3. Insert 8 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
4. Close the battery compartment securely.

2. SD Card Installation

A Class 4 or higher SD card (up to 32GB) is required to store images and videos (not included).

1. With the camera housing open, locate the SD card slot.
2. Insert the SD card into the slot with the label facing up until it clicks into place.
3. To remove, push the SD card in until it clicks, then release. It will eject slightly.

3. Mounting the Camera

The camera can be mounted to a tree or post using the provided mounting strap.

1. Thread the mounting strap through the slots on the back of the camera.
2. Secure the camera to a tree or post at the desired height and angle. Ensure the camera is stable and pointed towards the area you wish to monitor.
3. Adjust the strap for a tight fit.

Operating Instructions

1. Powering On/Off

To power on the camera, press the POWER button located on the control panel. The LCD screen will illuminate. To power off, press and hold the POWER button until the screen turns off.

2. Menu Navigation and Settings

Use the + and - buttons to navigate through menu options and adjust settings. Press ENTER to confirm a selection.

• Time/Date: Set the current time and date.
• Location: Assign a custom location name for camera identification.
• PIR Mode:
  • Still: Camera captures still images.
  • Video: Camera records video clips.
• PIR Active: Set the active period for the Passive Infrared sensor (e.g., 24Hr, Day, Night).
• PIR Sense: Adjust the sensitivity of the PIR sensor (High, Medium, Low). Higher sensitivity detects motion at greater distances but may result in more false triggers.
• Exposure: Control image brightness (High, Medium, Low).
• Picture: Select picture mode (Regular, Wide).
• Resolution: Set the image or video resolution (High, Medium, Low). Higher resolution provides better quality but uses more storage space.
• Delay: Set the delay time between triggers (5s, 15s, 30s, 1m, 5m, 10m). This prevents multiple captures of the same event in quick succession.

3. Capturing Images and Videos

Once settings are configured, close the camera housing. The camera will enter monitoring mode and begin capturing images or videos based on your PIR Mode and PIR Active settings when motion is detected.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera lens and housing. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Battery Replacement: Replace all batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the LCD screen or when performance degrades. Always replace all batteries at once with new ones.
• SD Card Management: Regularly check the SD card for available space. Format the SD card periodically to maintain optimal performance and prevent data corruption. Back up important files before formatting.
• Storage: When not in use, store the camera in a cool, dry place with batteries removed.
