  • 5-point Crossover + OFF: Allows selection of the super tweeter's lower frequency limit at 8, 10, 12, 14, or 16 kHz. An 'OFF' position is also available. The crossover slope is 12 dB/octave.

  • Easy Connection: Connects directly to the same binding posts as your main speakers, drawing power from the existing amplifier connection. No separate amplifier connection is required.
  • Beautifully Curved Cabinet: Features a matte black finish with a curved cabinet design, suitable for various decor styles.
  • 5-Way Gold-Plated Binding Posts: Offers versatile connection options including bare wire, banana plugs, spades, round pins, or flat pins.

4. Safety Information

Important: Do not connect the super tweeters directly to an amplifier output without connecting them in parallel with your main speakers. This product is designed to be connected to the same speaker terminals as your main speakers.

5. Setup

5.1 Placement

The RST MKII Super Tweeters are designed for top-on-speaker placement. Position them on top of your main stereo or home theater speakers. Ensure they are stable and do not obstruct the main speaker's drivers.

5.2 Connection

Connect the super tweeters in parallel with your main speakers. Use high-quality speaker wire to connect the positive (+) terminal of the super tweeter to the positive (+) terminal of your main speaker, and the negative (-) terminal of the super tweeter to the negative (-) terminal of your main speaker. Your main speaker will then connect to your amplifier as usual.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Crossover Point Adjustment

The RST MKII features a 5-point crossover knob on the rear panel. This allows you to set the frequency at which the super tweeter begins to operate. Experiment with the settings (8 kHz, 10 kHz, 12 kHz, 14 kHz, 16 kHz) to find the best blend with your main speakers. The 'OFF' position disables the super tweeter.

  • 8 kHz: Provides the most overlap with your existing tweeter, potentially adding more presence to the upper midrange and lower treble.
  • 16 kHz: Offers minimal overlap, primarily extending the very top end of the frequency range.

6.2 Treble Attenuation

Below the crossover knob, there is a treble adjust knob for attenuation. This allows you to reduce the output level of the super tweeter from 0dB (no attenuation) down to -5dB. Adjust this setting to achieve a balanced sound that complements your main speakers and room acoustics, avoiding excessive brightness.

7. Maintenance

To maintain the appearance and performance of your super tweeters:

  • Wipe the cabinet with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Keep the ribbon tweeter free from dust and debris. Use a soft brush or compressed air if necessary, being careful not to touch the delicate ribbon.
  • Ensure connections remain secure. Periodically check the binding posts for tightness.

Ensure the crossover knob is set to an active frequency (8-16 kHz). Adjust the treble knob to 0dB or a higher setting. Test with different speaker wires.
Sound is too bright or harshTreble adjust set too high; Crossover point too low; Room acoustics.Reduce the treble adjust setting (e.g., -1dB to -5dB). Try a higher crossover frequency (e.g., 14 kHz or 16 kHz). Consider room treatment if the issue persists.
