2.1 Component Identification

- Charge Indicator: Displays charging status.

3. Setup
3.1 Charging the Remote
The remote control comes with a built-in Lithium Polymer battery. Before first use, fully charge the remote. Connect the charging cable to the Charging Port (Figure 2.2) and a suitable USB power source. The Charge Indicator will show the charging status.
3.2 Pairing with GoPro Camera
To establish a connection between the remote and your GoPro camera:
- Ensure both the remote and the GoPro camera are powered on.
- On your GoPro camera, navigate to the connection settings and enable remote control pairing. Refer to your GoPro camera's user manual for specific steps.
- On the YOCTOP remote, press and hold the Power/Mode button until the remote enters pairing mode (indicated by flashing lights).
- Once the remote and camera are in pairing mode, they should automatically connect. The remote's status indicators will confirm a successful connection.
4. Operating Instructions
The YOCTOP Smart Remote Control offers intuitive operation for various GoPro functions. The following instructions detail common operations:

- Switch Main Modes: Press the Power/Mode button to cycle through the main camera modes (e.g., Video, Photo, Time-Lapse). The corresponding LED indicator on the remote will illuminate.
- Switch Sub-Modes: Press the Setting (Wrench) button to cycle through sub-modes within the currently selected main mode (e.g., different video resolutions, photo bursts).
- Set Shortcut Sub-mode: To set a favorite sub-mode as a shortcut, navigate to the desired sub-mode on your camera, then press and hold the Shortcut (Star) button on the remote for 3 seconds. The remote will confirm the setting.
- Jump to Shortcut Sub-mode: Once a shortcut is set, a single press of the Shortcut (Star) button will instantly switch the camera to that pre-configured sub-mode.
- Start Recording/Capture Photo: Press the Shutter (Red Circle) button to start video recording or capture a photo, depending on the current mode. The camera's recording indicator will activate.
- Highlight Tag: During recording, press the Shutter (Red Circle) button briefly to add a highlight tag to your footage. This marks important moments for easier editing later.
- Stop Recording: Press the Shutter (Red Circle) button again to stop video recording.
- Turn Off Camera: To power off the connected GoPro camera via the remote, press and hold the Power/Mode button for 3 seconds. The camera will display a power-off message.

5. Maintenance
Proper care ensures the longevity and performance of your remote control.
- Cleaning: Wipe the remote with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Storage: Store the remote in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Water and Dust Resistance: The remote is designed to be water and dust proof. Ensure the charging port cover is securely closed before exposing it to water or dust. While designed for resistance, avoid prolonged submersion or high-pressure water jets.

6. Troubleshooting

- Remote not connecting to GoPro:
- Ensure both devices are fully charged.
