Setup and Assembly
Before you begin, ensure you have cleared a sufficient workspace and have the necessary tools (typically an Allen wrench, which is included, and possibly a Phillips head screwdriver, not included).
Step 1: Prepare the Crib and Changer Combo
Carefully disassemble your DaVinci Kalani Crib and Changer Combo (M5582). Remove the crib side rails and the mattress support. You will retain the headboard and footboard sections of the crib to form the ends of your full-size bed.
Step 2: Attach Full-Size Bed Rails
Align one of the long full-size bed rails with the pre-drilled holes on the headboard. Insert the appropriate bolts through the headboard and into the bed rail, securing them with barrel nuts. Do not fully tighten yet. Repeat this process for the other long bed rail on the footboard side. Ensure the bed rails are oriented correctly, with the mattress support ledges facing inward.
Step 3: Connect Headboard and Footboard
Connect the remaining ends of the long full-size bed rails to the footboard and headboard respectively, using the same bolt and barrel nut method. Once all four connections are made, gently tighten all hardware. Avoid over-tightening.

Step 4: Install Mattress Support Rails
Place the two shorter mattress support rails across the width of the bed frame, resting them on the ledges of the long bed rails. These rails provide central support for your box spring. Secure them in place using the provided screws, attaching them to the long bed rails.
Step 5: Add Wooden Support Blocks
Position the two wooden support blocks centrally under the mattress support rails for additional stability. These blocks should rest on the floor and provide vertical support.
Step 6: Final Checks
Ensure all bolts are snug and the frame is stable. Place your full-size box spring and mattress (sold separately) onto the assembled bed frame. The box spring and mattress should fit securely within the frame.
