2. Safety Information

Adhering to these safety guidelines is crucial for safe operation and to prolong the life of your water pump.

  • Fuel Type: Use #90 or above gasoline.
  • Fuel Mixture: Mix gasoline with two-stroke engine oil in a ratio of 25 parts gasoline to 1 part 2-stroke engine oil. Incorrect mixture can damage the engine.
  • Water Priming: Water must be added to the pump before each use. Operating the pump dry will cause severe damage.
  • Pre-Operation Check: Before starting, ensure the machine is complete and check the coupling for any internal drive damage.
  • Shutdown Procedure: After use, allow the engine to idle for 2-3 minutes to cool down before turning it off. This improves engine longevity.
  • Storage: Drain the fuel tank completely when storing the pump for extended periods.
  • Ventilation: Operate the pump in a well-ventilated area to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning.
  • Hot Surfaces: The engine and exhaust components become very hot during operation. Avoid contact to prevent burns.

5.2 Fuel Preparation

  1. Using the provided fuel oil mixing bottle, accurately mix #90 or higher octane gasoline with 2-stroke engine oil at a 25:1 ratio (25 parts gasoline to 1 part oil).
  2. Carefully pour the mixed fuel into the pump's fuel tank using the funnel. Do not overfill.

Image 5: Illustration of the pump's fuel system, highlighting the 0.22-gallon fuel tank capacity and a low fuel consumption rate of 610 g/Kw.h.

5.3 Hose Connections

  1. Connect the suction hose (inlet) to the pump's inlet port (1-inch diameter). Ensure a tight, airtight connection to prevent air leaks, which can affect priming and performance. Attach the included filter to the end of the suction hose submerged in the water source.
  2. Connect the discharge hose (outlet) to the pump's outlet port (1-inch diameter). Secure this connection as well.

5.4 Water Priming

Before starting the engine, remove the water filler cap and pour water into the pump casing until it is full. Replace the cap securely. This step is critical for the pump to create suction.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Starting the Engine

  1. Ensure the fuel tank is filled with the correct fuel mixture and the pump is primed with water.
  2. Locate the ON/OFF switch and set it to the 'ON' position.
  3. If equipped, engage the choke lever (usually for cold starts).
  4. Pull the drawstring starter handle firmly and smoothly until the engine starts. You may need several pulls.
  5. Once the engine starts, gradually disengage the choke lever as the engine warms up.

6.2 Adjusting Speed

The pump's engine speed can be regulated using the gear-controlled speed adjustment lever. Adjust as needed for your specific application, balancing flow rate and fuel efficiency.

6.3 Shutdown Procedure

  1. Before shutting down, allow the engine to idle for 2-3 minutes. This helps the engine cool down gradually and extends its lifespan.
  2. Press the one-click shutdown button or set the ON/OFF switch to the 'OFF' position.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your water pump.

  • Fuel System: For long-term storage (more than 30 days), drain all fuel from the fuel tank and carburetor to prevent fuel degradation and gumming.
  • Air Filter: Periodically inspect and clean or replace the air filter. A dirty air filter can reduce engine performance and increase fuel consumption. An extra air filter is included in your package.
  • Water Inlet Filter: Regularly check and clean the water inlet filter to prevent debris from entering the pump and causing damage or reduced flow.
  • Spark Plug: Inspect the spark plug periodically. Clean or replace it if it is fouled or worn.
  • General Cleaning: Keep the exterior of the pump clean, especially the cooling fins on the engine, to ensure proper heat dissipation.
