3.2 Initial Power-On and Settings
After battery installation, press the ON/OFF button to power on the device. The thermometer will perform a self-check and display the last measurement or be ready for a new measurement.
3.2.1 Changing Temperature Units (°C/°F)
To switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F):
- With the thermometer powered OFF, press and hold the Memory (MEM) button for approximately 6 seconds.
- The display will cycle between °C and °F. Release the button when your desired unit is shown.
3.2.2 Adjusting Sound (On/Off)
To turn the sound (beeps) on or off:
- With the thermometer powered OFF, press and hold the Memory (MEM) button for approximately 4 seconds.
- The display will show an icon indicating sound on or off. Release the button when your desired setting is shown.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Selecting Measurement Mode
The thermometer supports two measurement modes: Human Body and Object. Use the mode switch located on the side of the device to toggle between these two modes.

Figure 4.1: Illustration of the two measurement modes: Forehead Measurement (Human Body) and Object Measurement (e.g., baby bottle, bath water).
4.2 Taking a Measurement
For accurate readings, ensure the measurement distance is between 0 cm and 5 cm. The blue dot focusing system helps identify the optimal distance.

Figure 4.2: The blue dot indicator helps ensure the correct measurement distance (less than 5 cm) for accurate readings.
To take a measurement:
- Ensure the correct mode (Human Body or Object) is selected.
- Point the thermometer sensor towards the center of the forehead (for human body) or the surface of the object.
- Maintain a distance of 0 cm to 5 cm. The blue dot will guide you to the optimal distance.
- Press the measurement trigger. The reading will appear on the LCD screen within 1 second.

Figure 4.3: The thermometer provides quick (1-second) and safe non-contact measurements with fever alerts and memory storage.
4.3 Interpreting Results (Color Backlight)
The LCD display features a three-color backlight to indicate temperature ranges, especially useful for human body temperature:
- Green Backlight: Indicates a normal temperature (typically below 37.4 °C).
- Yellow Backlight: Indicates a slightly elevated temperature (typically between 37.5 °C and 38.5 °C).
- Red Backlight: Indicates a high temperature or fever (typically above 38.6 °C).

Figure 4.4: The display changes color based on temperature: Green for normal, Yellow for slightly elevated, and Red for fever.

Figure 4.5: The bright screen and color alerts ensure clear readings even in low-light conditions, with features like the blue dot indicator and automatic shutdown.
4.4 Memory Recall
The thermometer can store up to 99 previous temperature readings. To access the memory:
- Press the Memory (MEM) button while the device is on.
- Each press will cycle through the stored readings, from the most recent to the oldest.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning the Thermometer
To ensure hygiene and accurate readings, clean the thermometer regularly:
- Wipe the thermometer body with a soft, dry cloth.
- For the sensor lens, gently wipe with a cotton swab slightly moistened with alcohol. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water.
- Ensure the sensor is clean and free of dust or debris before each use.
5.2 Storage
Store the thermometer in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. The recommended storage temperature is -20 °C to 55 °C with humidity ≤ 95 % RH. If not in use for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
5.3 Battery Replacement
When the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace both AAA batteries with new ones. Follow the battery installation steps in Section 3.1.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your thermometer, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No display/Device won't turn on | Dead or incorrectly installed batteries. | Replace batteries with new ones, ensuring correct polarity. |
| Inaccurate readings | Incorrect measurement distance; dirty sensor; extreme ambient temperature changes. | Ensure 0-5cm distance using blue dot; clean sensor; allow thermometer to acclimate to room temperature for 30 minutes. |
| Display shows "Lo" or "Hi" | Temperature is outside the measurement range. | Ensure the temperature is within the specified range (Human Body: 32.0 °C ~ 43.0 °C; Object: 0 °C ~ 100 °C). |
| No sound/Sound not working | Sound function is turned off. | Refer to Section 3.2.2 to enable the sound function. |
If the problem persists after trying these solutions, please contact customer support.
