6. Maintenance
Proper care and maintenance will extend the life of your rangefinder.
- Cleaning Lenses: Use the provided lens cleaning cloth to gently wipe the objective lens and eyepiece. Do not use abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
- Storage: When not in use, store the rangefinder in its protective case in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Water Resistance: The device is rain-proof (IP54 rated). Avoid submerging it in water. If it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately.
- Battery Care: Recharge the battery regularly, even if not in frequent use, to maintain battery health. Avoid fully depleting the battery for extended periods.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your rangefinder, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Problem: Cannot get a reading.
Solution: The minimum range is 5 yards. Ensure your target is within the 5-1000 yards ranging scope. The device may not provide readings in small rooms, through glass, or if the distance is outside its operational range.
- Problem: Readings seem inaccurate sometimes.
Solution: Environmental factors such as rain, fog, strong light, or heavy dust can influence laser transmission and affect accuracy. For small objects, ensure you are aiming directly at the target and not something in the background.
