Setup Guide
There are two primary methods to set up your Uppoon 2021 WiFi Extender: using the WPS button or via a web browser.
Method 1: WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)
- Plug the WiFi Extender into an electrical outlet near your main router.
- Wait for the Power LED on the extender to turn solid.
- Press the WPS button on your main router.
- Within two minutes, press the WPS button on the WiFi Extender.
- The Extender's Signal LED should turn solid, indicating a successful connection.
- You can now unplug the extender and move it to your desired location.
Note: If your router does not have a WPS button, or if the WPS connection fails, please use the Web Browser Setup method.
Method 2: Web Browser Setup
- Plug the WiFi Extender into an electrical outlet.
- On your computer or mobile device, connect to the extender's default Wi-Fi network (e.g., "UPPOON_EXT"). No password is required initially.
- Open a web browser and enter the default IP address (usually 192.168.10.1 or a specific domain provided in the quick start guide) into the address bar.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to create an administrator password and select your desired operating mode (Repeater or AP).
- Scan for available Wi-Fi networks and select your main router's network.
- Enter your main router's Wi-Fi password when prompted.
- Confirm the settings. The extender will restart, and its Signal LED should indicate a successful connection.
Operating Modes
The Uppoon 2021 WiFi Extender supports multiple operating modes to suit various networking needs.
1. Repeater Mode (Range Extender Mode)
In Repeater Mode, the extender wirelessly connects to your existing router and amplifies its signal to extend coverage to areas with weak or no Wi-Fi. This mode is ideal for eliminating Wi-Fi dead zones.
2. Access Point (AP) Mode
In AP Mode, the extender connects to your wired network (e.g., via an Ethernet cable from your router) and transforms it into a wireless access point. This is useful for adding Wi-Fi capability to a wired-only network or creating a new Wi-Fi network.
3. Router Mode
In Router Mode, the device functions as a primary router, connecting directly to your modem via an Ethernet cable to create a new private wireless network for your home or office.
Optimal Placement
For best performance, place the WiFi Extender in a location that is roughly halfway between your router and the area where you need improved Wi-Fi coverage. Ensure it is within the range of your main router's signal. Avoid placing it near large metal objects, concrete walls, or other electronic devices that may cause interference.

Care and Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
- Firmware Updates: Periodically check the manufacturer's website for firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Ventilation: Ensure the device is placed in a well-ventilated area to prevent overheating.
- Power Cycle: If the device experiences issues, try unplugging it from the power outlet for 10 seconds and then plugging it back in.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
| Cannot connect to the extender's Wi-Fi network. | Ensure the extender is powered on. Try resetting the extender to factory defaults by pressing the reset button for 5-10 seconds. |
| "Password failed" error during setup. | Verify that you are entering the correct password for your main router's Wi-Fi network. Passwords are case-sensitive. If using WPS, ensure both buttons are pressed within the time limit. If issues persist, try the web browser setup method. |
| Extender is connected but no internet access. | Check if your main router has internet access. Ensure the extender is placed within adequate range of your main router. Try restarting both the router and the extender. Reconfigure the extender if necessary. |
| Slow speeds or frequent disconnections. | Relocate the extender closer to your main router or away from potential interference sources (e.g., microwaves, cordless phones). Ensure the extender's firmware is up to date. |
| Extender stopped working after some time. | Perform a factory reset. If the issue persists, contact customer support. |
