CENMING FAN-53T Ceiling Fan Remote Control Instruction Manual

Model: FAN-53T

Introduction

This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the CENMING FAN-53T replacement remote control for ceiling fans. This remote operates at a radio frequency of 303.9MHz and is designed to control fan speed and light functions. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and operation to ensure correct usage and optimal performance.

Compatibility

The CENMING Model FAN-53T remote is designed as a replacement for specific ceiling fan remote controls operating at a frequency of 303.9MHz. To ensure compatibility, verify that your original remote has one of the following FCC ID/Model numbers on its back:

  • 2AAZPFAN53T / FAN-53T
  • L3HFAN11T / FAN-11T
  • CHQ7030T / UC7030T
  • L3HFAN35T1
  • FAN-HD

Important Note: This remote is not universal. If your original remote operates on a different frequency or has a different appearance, it may not be compatible. This remote works with FAN28R/FAN18R receivers (303.9MHz). This item includes the handheld remote only and does not include a receiver or 9V battery.

Setup and Installation

1. Installing the Battery

The remote control requires one 9V battery (not included). Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote and insert the 9V battery, observing the correct polarity. Close the battery compartment securely.

2. Setting the DIP Codes

To ensure proper communication between the remote and your ceiling fan receiver, the DIP switches on the new remote must match the settings of your original remote or the fan's receiver unit.

  1. Locate Original DIP Codes: Carefully remove the battery cover from your original remote control. The DIP switches are typically small switches labeled 1, 2, 3, 4, often hidden behind the battery slot. Note the exact ON/OFF pattern of these switches.
  2. Access New Remote's DIP Switches: Open the battery compartment of the new CENMING FAN-53T remote. The DIP switches are located behind the battery slot.
  3. Match DIP Codes: Using a small tool (like a pen tip), carefully slide the switches on the new remote to match the exact ON/OFF pattern you observed from your original remote.
  4. Complete Setup: Once the DIP codes are matched, insert the 9V battery into the new remote and close the battery cover. The remote should now be ready for operation.

Operating Instructions

The CENMING FAN-53T remote control features five buttons for fan and light operation:

  • HI: Sets the fan speed to High.
  • MED: Sets the fan speed to Medium.
  • LOW: Sets the fan speed to Low.
  • OFF: Turns the fan off.
  • Light Button (Green Bulb Icon): Controls the light function.

Light Control:

Press the green light button to turn the light ON or OFF. If your ceiling fan uses incandescent bulbs or dimmable LED lights, press and hold the light button to dim or brighten the light. For most LED lights and all CFL lamps, the dimmer function will only support ON/OFF operation as these are typically non-dimmable.

Note: This remote does not include a reverse function button for changing fan direction.

Troubleshooting

Remote Not Responding:

  • Check Battery: Ensure a fresh 9V battery is installed correctly in the remote control, observing proper polarity.
  • Verify DIP Codes: Confirm that the DIP switches in the remote precisely match the settings of your ceiling fan receiver. Incorrect DIP code settings are a common cause of non-responsiveness.
  • Frequency Mismatch: Ensure your ceiling fan receiver operates at 303.9MHz and is compatible with the listed FCC ID/Model numbers.

Light Dimmer Not Working:

  • Bulb Compatibility: The light dimmer function is only compatible with incandescent light bulbs and certain dimmable LED lights. Most standard LED lights and all CFL lamps are non-dimmable and will only support ON/OFF functionality with this remote.

Fan Runs Slower or Lights are Dim:

  • If you experience reduced fan speed or dimming lights even with new bulbs, ensure the remote receiver unit (if applicable and separate from the remote) is functioning correctly and not causing voltage drops. Consult a qualified electrician if issues persist after verifying remote functionality.
