4. Setup

This DCS grill is designed for built-in installation. Professional installation by a qualified technician is highly recommended to ensure safety and compliance with local codes.

4.1 Gas Connection

  • Ensure the propane gas supply is turned off at the source before making any connections.
  • Connect the grill to a regulated propane gas supply using approved gas lines and fittings.
  • Perform a leak test on all gas connections using a soap and water solution. Bubbles indicate a leak. Do not use the grill if a leak is detected.

4.2 Initial Burn-Off

Before first use, operate the grill on high heat for 15-20 minutes with the lid closed to burn off any manufacturing residues. This process may produce some smoke and odor, which is normal.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Lighting the Main Burners

  1. Open the grill lid.
  2. Ensure all burner control knobs are in the 'OFF' position.
  3. Turn on the propane gas supply.
  4. Push in and slowly turn one burner control knob to the 'HIGH' position. You should hear a clicking sound as the igniter sparks.
  5. If the burner does not light within 5 seconds, turn the knob to 'OFF', wait 5 minutes, and repeat the process.
  6. Once lit, adjust the flame to the desired cooking temperature. Repeat for other burners as needed.

5.2 Using the Rotisserie

  • Securely attach the food to the rotisserie spit. Ensure it is balanced to prevent uneven cooking and strain on the motor.
  • Insert the rotisserie spit into the motor and support brackets.
  • Turn on the infrared rear burner by pushing in and turning its control knob.
  • Activate the rotisserie motor.
  • Monitor cooking progress and internal food temperature.

5.3 Using the Smoker Box

  • Fill the sealed smoker tray with wood chips, liquid (e.g., wine or beer), or a combination.
  • Place the smoker tray in its designated position.
  • Turn on the dedicated smoker burner by pushing in and turning its control knob.
  • Close the grill lid to allow smoke to infuse the food.

5.4 Smart Beam Grill Light

The Smart Beam grill light illuminates the entire cooking surface. Activate it using the dedicated switch located on the side panel for improved visibility during evening cooking.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning the Cooking Grates

  • After each use, while the grates are still warm, brush off food residue with a stiff-bristled grill brush.
  • For deeper cleaning, remove the grates and wash with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before reinstalling.

6.2 Cleaning the Exterior

  • Wipe stainless steel surfaces with a soft cloth and a stainless steel cleaner or mild soap and water. Always wipe in the direction of the grain.
  • Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, which can scratch the finish.

6.3 Grease Management System

Regularly inspect and clean the grease tray to prevent accumulation and potential fire hazards. Remove the tray, empty its contents, and wash with warm, soapy water. Ensure it is dry before reinserting.

6.4 Ceramic Radiant Briquettes

The ceramic radiant briquettes are self-cleaning to a degree. Periodically inspect them for excessive buildup and gently brush off any loose debris when the grill is cool. Do not use water on hot briquettes.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 Burner Not Lighting

  • Check if the gas supply is open and there is sufficient propane in the tank.
  • Ensure the igniter electrode is clean and properly positioned.
  • Verify that the control knob is pushed in and turned slowly to the 'HIGH' position.

7.2 Uneven Heating

  • Clean the cooking grates and ceramic radiant briquettes to remove any blockages.
  • Ensure burners are free from debris and spider webs, which can obstruct gas flow.

7.3 Excessive Flare-Ups

  • Clean the grease management system and grease tray regularly.
  • Trim excess fat from meats before grilling.
  • Avoid using excessive marinades or sauces that can drip and cause flare-ups.
