2. Setup
2.1. Battery Installation and Charging
The XPH25R headlamp utilizes a Rechargeable Dual Power system, offering flexibility in power sources:
- COAST ZITHION-X™ Rechargeable Battery: The headlamp comes with a ported ZITHION-X rechargeable battery. Use the included charging cable to recharge the battery. Connect the cable to the charging port on the headlamp and to a suitable USB power source. The real-time power indicator will show charging status.
- CR123 Lithium Batteries: For alternative power, the headlamp is compatible with CR123 lithium batteries (purchased separately). Ensure correct polarity when inserting these batteries.
To install or replace batteries, carefully open the battery compartment. Insert the chosen battery type, observing the polarity markings. Close the compartment securely.
2.2. Adjusting the Headband
The elastic headband is adjustable to fit various head sizes. Slide the buckle on the headband to achieve a comfortable and secure fit. The headlamp unit can be tilted within its bracket to direct light as needed.
3. Operation
3.1. Power On/Off and Mode Selection
Locate the power button on the headlamp unit. Press the button once to turn the headlamp on. Subsequent presses will cycle through the available light modes (e.g., High, Medium, Low). Press and hold the button to turn the headlamp off.
3.2. PURE BEAM® TWIST FOCUS™
The XPH25R features a PURE BEAM optical system with TWIST FOCUS, allowing you to transition between a wide flood beam and a focused spot beam. To adjust the beam, simply rotate the head of the light. Rotate in one direction for a broad Ultra View Flood Beam and in the other for a concentrated BULLS-EYE™ Spot Beam.

3.3. Detachable Headlamp and Magnetic Tail Cap
The headlamp unit can be detached from its bracket on the headband to be used as a standalone handheld flashlight. Once detached, the built-in magnetic tail cap allows for convenient attachment to metallic surfaces, providing hands-free lighting in various orientations.

4.1. Cleaning
To clean the headlamp, wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the finish or internal components. Ensure the charging port cover is securely closed to maintain water resistance.
4.2. Battery Care
For optimal performance and longevity of the ZITHION-X rechargeable battery, charge it regularly. If storing the headlamp for an extended period, it is recommended to charge the battery to approximately 50% capacity and store it in a cool, dry place. Remove CR123 lithium batteries if the headlamp will not be used for a long time to prevent leakage.
4.3. Storage
Store the headlamp in a dry environment, away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight. Keep it out of reach of children.
5. Troubleshooting
- Headlamp does not turn on:
- Check if the battery is properly installed and fully charged.
- If using CR123 batteries, ensure they are new and inserted with correct polarity.
- Light output is dim:
- The battery may be low. Recharge the ZITHION-X battery or replace CR123 batteries.
- Ensure the lens is clean and free from dirt or obstructions.
- Charging issue:
- Verify that the charging cable is securely connected to both the headlamp and the power source.
- Try a different USB power adapter or port.
- Confirm the charging port type on your specific unit (some units may have Micro-USB despite documentation mentioning USB-C).
- Beam focus not working smoothly:
- Check for any debris or foreign objects obstructing the twist focus mechanism.
