Operating Instructions

1. Microphone Selection

You can use the built-in omnidirectional microphone on the TX unit by clipping it directly to your clothing. Alternatively, connect one of the external lavalier microphones to the 3.5mm input jack on the TX unit for more discreet placement. Ensure the external mic is securely connected.

2. Gain Control

Adjust the audio input gain on the transmitter to optimize signal levels. The SYNCO G2(A2) offers 0 to 5 levels of gain control. Monitor the audio levels on the TX and RX displays to prevent clipping or excessively low volume.

3. Low-Cut Filter

Activate the 150Hz low-cut filter on the transmitter to reduce unwanted low-frequency noise such as wind, air conditioning hum, or traffic rumble. This helps in achieving clearer audio, especially in outdoor or noisy environments.

4. Mute Function

Press the mute button on the transmitter to temporarily silence the microphone. This is useful for brief pauses during recording or conversations. The TFT screen will clearly indicate when the microphone is muted.

5. Real-time Monitoring

Connect headphones to the 3.5mm headphone jack on the receiver to monitor your audio in real-time. This allows you to check audio quality and levels during recording, ensuring optimal sound capture.

6. Output Mode Selection (Mono/Stereo/Safety)

The receiver offers three output modes:

  • Mono Mode: Combines the audio from both transmitters into a single mono track.
  • Stereo Mode: Records each transmitter's audio to a separate left and right channel, providing greater flexibility in post-production.
  • Safety Track Mode: Records a secondary audio track at -6dB alongside the main track. This acts as a backup, preventing audio clipping if the main track's levels unexpectedly peak.

The safety track mode helps protect your audio from clipping during recording.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Gently wipe the units with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the device's finish or internal components.
  • Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the units frequently. Recharge them regularly, even if not in constant use. Store the devices in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.
  • Storage: Always store the SYNCO G2(A2) system in its provided carrying bag to protect it from dust, moisture, and physical damage.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your SYNCO G2(A2) system, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • No Sound or Low Volume:
    • Ensure all cables are securely connected to both the microphone system and your recording device.
    • Verify that both the transmitter(s) and receiver are powered on and properly paired.
    • Adjust the gain levels on the transmitter and the input volume on your recording device.
    • Check the battery levels of all units.
  • Interference or Poor Signal Quality:
    • Ensure the transmitter and receiver are within the specified 200m (656ft) line-of-sight range.
    • Minimize physical obstacles (walls, large objects) between the TX and RX units.
    • Avoid operating near other 2.4GHz wireless devices that may cause interference.
  • Distorted Audio:
    • Reduce the gain levels on the transmitter to prevent audio clipping.
    • Ensure the low-cut filter is not inadvertently cutting desired frequencies.
    • Consider using the safety track mode to provide a -6dB backup recording.
