1. Introduction and Overview
The Honeywell Prestige IAQ thermostat is a sophisticated 2-wire, high-definition color touchscreen thermostat designed for both residential and light commercial applications. It offers 7-day programmability and comprehensive control over your indoor environment.
This system is capable of controlling up to 4 stages of heat and 2 stages of cool in a heat pump system, and up to 3 stages of heat and 2 stages of cool in a conventional system. It features three sets of Universal IAQ contacts for managing humidification, dehumidification, and ventilation, along with four sensor inputs for wired sensors or dry contact devices.
The Prestige IAQ thermostat integrates seamlessly with the Equipment Interface Module and various RedLINK® accessories, including the RedLINK® Internet Gateway, Portable Comfort Control, Wireless Outdoor Sensor, and Wireless Indoor Sensor, providing a complete solution for indoor air quality management.

3. Setup and Installation
Important: This product is designed for professional installation only. Improper installation can lead to system malfunction or damage.
3.1. Equipment Interface Module (EIM) Wiring
The Equipment Interface Module (EIM) serves as the central wiring hub for your HVAC and IAQ equipment. All connections from your furnace, air conditioner, humidifier, dehumidifier, and ventilation system will terminate at the EIM. The thermostat then connects to the EIM using only two wires, simplifying the thermostat wiring process.
3.2. Thermostat Mounting and Connection
Once the EIM is wired, mount the Prestige IAQ thermostat in the desired location. Connect the two wires from the EIM to the designated terminals on the back of the thermostat. Ensure all connections are secure and follow the wiring diagrams provided in the professional installation guide.
3.3. Initial Power-Up and Configuration
Upon initial power-up, the thermostat will guide you through an interview-based setup process. This includes configuring system type (conventional or heat pump), number of stages, and IAQ accessory settings. This patented process simplifies complex system configurations.
3.4. RedLINK® Internet Gateway Setup
Connect the RedLINK® Internet Gateway to your home network and power supply. This gateway enables remote access and control of your thermostat via the Honeywell Home app. Follow the instructions provided with the gateway for network connection and app pairing.
4. Operating the Thermostat
4.1. Touchscreen Interface
The Prestige IAQ thermostat features a high-definition color touchscreen for intuitive control. Navigate through menus by tapping icons and options. The main screen displays current temperature, humidity, system status, and schedule information.
4.2. Smart Schedule Programming
Utilize the Smart Schedule feature to program your heating, cooling, and IAQ settings for different times of the day and days of the week. This feature allows for quick and efficient scheduling tailored to your lifestyle, optimizing comfort and energy savings.
4.3. IAQ Control
The thermostat provides integrated control for humidification, dehumidification, and ventilation systems connected to the EIM. Access these settings through the touchscreen menu to maintain optimal indoor air quality.
4.4. Remote Access (via RedLINK® Internet Gateway)
With the RedLINK® Internet Gateway connected, you can monitor and control your thermostat remotely using the Honeywell Home mobile application. This allows for adjustments from anywhere, providing convenience and peace of mind.
5. Maintenance
The Honeywell Prestige IAQ thermostat requires minimal maintenance. Keep the touchscreen clean by gently wiping it with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure that the air vents on the thermostat and any connected sensors are not obstructed.
Regularly check the batteries in any wireless sensors (if applicable) and replace them as needed to ensure continuous operation and accurate readings.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Honeywell Prestige IAQ system, consider the following general troubleshooting steps:
- No Power to Thermostat: Check the circuit breaker for your HVAC system. Ensure all wiring connections at the Equipment Interface Module and thermostat are secure.
- Incorrect Temperature Readings: Verify that the thermostat and any remote sensors are not exposed to direct sunlight, drafts, or heat sources that could affect readings.
- System Not Responding: Ensure the system switch on the thermostat is set to the desired mode (Heat, Cool, Auto, Off). Check if the fan is set to Auto or On.
- Connectivity Issues (RedLINK®): Ensure the RedLINK® Internet Gateway is powered on and connected to your home network. Check your internet connection.
For complex issues or if the problem persists, it is recommended to contact a qualified HVAC professional or Honeywell customer support for assistance, as this system is designed for professional installation and service.
