Setup Guide
1. Check Installation Environment
Before beginning installation, ensure your existing doorbell wires are functional. If you do not have existing doorbell wires, the provided DC 12V power adapter can be used for installation. For optimal doorbell view, the recommended installation height for the doorbell camera is 48 inches (1.2 meters) from the ground. Refer to Video 1 for visual guidance on checking the installation environment.
2. Prepare the Doorbell Wiring
Switch off the power to your doorbell circuit at the breaker. If unsure, switch off the main power to your house. Locate your existing doorbell chime and remove its cover. Find the terminals marked "FRONT" and "TRANS" or the ones with existing wire connections. Use the provided jumper to connect both terminals of the existing chime. This bypasses the chime, allowing the new wireless chime to function. Refer to Video 1 for detailed wiring instructions.
3. Mount the Video Doorbell
Remove your existing doorbell button. Use the screw hole positioning card to mark where to drill holes. If mounting on wood, you can screw directly without drilling pilot holes. For stucco, brick, or concrete, use a quarter-inch (6.35mm) drill bit and insert the provided anchors. If you need to adjust the viewing angle, use the optional 20° wedge, ensuring the wider side faces outward. Connect the doorbell wires to the terminals on the doorbell, then tighten the terminal screws. The device has no positive or negative poles. If the wires are too short, use the extension wires to lengthen them. Finally, hook the doorbell onto the top of the bracket and press the bottom to secure it, then tighten the safety screw. Refer to Video 1 for visual mounting instructions.
4. Set up the Wireless Chime
The wireless chime can be powered by any USB compatible power source (DC5V 1A) or by a USB port on your computer. Plug the chime into a power socket where you want it to notify you. Ensure the chime is within range of the doorbell camera for optimal performance. Refer to Video 1 for chime setup demonstration.
5. App Setup and Pairing
Download the "CloudEdge" app from the App Store (for iOS) or Google Play (for Android). Sign up or log into the app. Switch on the power to your house. When the doorbell ring pulses red, you can follow the in-app instructions to set up the video doorbell. You will be prompted to scan a QR code with the doorbell camera. The indicator on the doorbell camera will turn solid blue if pairing is successful. If the doorbell shows a steady red light, your doorbell transformer might not be delivering sufficient power; consider upgrading the transformer. Refer to Video 1 for app setup and pairing steps.
