4. Setup Guide

4.1 Physical Connection

  1. Ensure your vehicle's ignition is ON.
  2. Locate the OBD2 port in the footwell on the driver's side of your car.
  3. Plug the ENET WiFi adapter firmly into the OBD2 port.

4.2 Connecting via Wi-Fi (iOS Devices)

For iOS devices, follow these specific steps to ensure proper connectivity:

  1. Enable Airplane Mode on your iOS device.
  2. Turn off Bluetooth on your iOS device.
  3. Turn on Wi-Fi on your iOS device.
  4. Connect to the ENET's Wi-Fi network (e.g., "ENET_WIFI_0AA2"). The default password is 12345678.
  5. After connecting, tap the information icon (i) next to the connected Wi-Fi network.
  6. Record the IP address and subnet mask automatically obtained by the current Wi-Fi connection.
  7. Change the IP address setting of your mobile phone's Wi-Fi from "Automatic" to "Manual".
  8. Fill in the previously obtained IP address and subnet mask in the manual IP address setting.
  9. Turn on your cellular network. The gateway and DNS do not need to be set.

4.3 Application Setup

  1. Open your preferred BMW diagnostic or coding application (e.g., BimmerCode, MHD).
  2. In the application's settings, ensure the correct adapter type (ENET WiFi Adapter) is selected.
  3. Tap "Connect" on the application's start screen to establish a connection with your vehicle.
  4. Maintain a distance of 5-30 meters between your iOS device and the adapter for optimal connection stability.

  • No Connection: Ensure the adapter is securely plugged into the OBD2 port and the vehicle's ignition is on. Verify that Wi-Fi is enabled on your device and you are connected to the adapter's network.
  • iOS Specific Issues: If using an iOS device, double-check that Airplane Mode is enabled, Bluetooth is off, and you have manually configured the IP address as described in Section 4.2. Ensure cellular data is also enabled.
  • Unstable Connection: Maintain a close proximity (5-30 meters) between your device and the adapter. Interference from other wireless devices can affect connection stability.
